Sean Marx, who has been a vital member of the Silk Royal roster since the label's inception, returns with his second full EP on the imprint. Over the past few years, this talented Dublin native's tracks have been featured on the radio shows of the world's top DJ's, including Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz, & Armin Van Buuren, and have also charted in Beatport's Progressive House Top 100 on various occasions.
Cissoko is the title cut and the standout on the release. A suspenseful energy is created in the intro, with an increasingly resonant sustained pad and delayed bassline drop. Suddenly, a lush bassline joins the mix, soon followed by gorgeous chanting African vocals. In the main break, these elements are joined by an infectious lead guitar riff, which is sure to transport you to the Cradle of Civilization.
Cascades of Light is a more upbeat, dancefloor-friendly track, with a brilliant trance-influenced lead synth propelling the track along. The breakdown showcases this lead, in unabashed, classic-Deadmau5 glory, which will be sure to bring a smile to the peak-hour clubber.
Elama, which like Cissoko, was featured on the Silk Royal Showcase 01 compilation, is vintage Marx: strong beats and bass, supported by emotional melodies above. A fittingly smooth close to the EP, Elama brings back the sunny, baobab-vibes of the album opener.

only heard Cissoko so far, on the Showcase 01 CD. Really like that one. Been meaning to check the others, which I'll do when I get home!
