lol Scoops you will not come in here and lead my Canadians awry! :haha: :haha:

Rave: Blkmarket has a great reputation. I would say that they cater more towards the techno-minimal (and, dare I say, more "educated") crowds in NYC. They are probably the most well-liked promoter in that area, as they really try to keep what the people want in mind.

Besides the fact that its Ben Klock (!!), I am certain that Blkmarket wont put anything on that you wouldnt have a great time at. I actually might stop by, as I have learned that my event I am going to ends at 1am and is only about 10 blks away. Have a great time!

Thanks Yankee!

... I still have some reserves about Ben Klock though, never was a big fan. Always find it a bit wacky and not always pleaseant to the ears. And quality of sound sometimes feels "off"...

But I will wait and see how it comes out live.

Man it's Ben Klock... there should be no hesitation here, it's not like you can judge how he is gonna play by a few of his wierd prods...

To be honest lately his productions have been on fire, I really think he is going to kill it and you and your friends will be pretty amused. I refuse to believe this guy will suck.

No problem babes, have a blast! If I dont end up there, let us know how Good Units is, because Blkmarket just started doing parties there recently and I would love to hear how it turns out :) :)

First, Kelly I think you should come. Bobby, Justin, Jaime and I will be there.

Second, while I did enjoy my time at D36 it was for New Year's and Ben Klock was there. Lol.

I have only heard good things about Good Units and the sound is supposed to be good.

Regardless of which party you choose I would suggest ear plugs. Both venues are known to be loud.

I have seen Ben Klock 4 or 5 times in the last year and he has not disappointed.

As an added bonus he is very nice on the eyes... ;)

I definitely prefer Blkmarket parties over any other in the city but that is my own personal opinon.

I do think both are popular enough in the city that both parties will be lots of fun.

Ben Klock filled the Bunker when he was here in November and D36 started to really fill back up when he was on the decks for New Year's.

I Def want to!! I have to go to that protest in the morning, then I have an event for yuis's mom that goes from dinner to event to post party....phew! If im not exhausted, I will be there because I am definitely more motivated to go somewhere in the hood than to travel distant places after such a long day! :) :)

Spoke to GHB, he has good things to say about Good Units, except for the drink prices (I guess to be expected in midtown Manhattan?)
She_Fitz
Did you come?

Klock rocked it. I would say last night was his best performance here in NYC out of his last 3.

Hope you got to experience it.

Ravemontreal
Yes I was there ;-)

The club as a nice underground, warehouse feel. The sound is pretty bad. It feels far away and muffled, no definition and no body impact. Like being under water. The lighting system is ok.

This is the second time I hear DVS1, and I never want to hear that guy again. Terrible opening set IMO. It was complete nonsense. Transitions were off, track selection didn't go well together, the music was not appropriate, and the crowd barely moved. After 2 hours I just couldn't wait until it was over.

When Ben Klock came on, you could tell right away a big shift in quality of mixing and track selection. It was way better. The set was good, not amazing or unusual, just good. I was expecting something a little more orginal, it was a pretty straight up 4x4 techno set, I don't recall hearing anything that blew my mind. But it was well done.

Most the dj sets nowadays are just 4x4 average mixing. I think we are too spoiled Martin :p
