I'm surprised there haven't been any reviews posted! :whip:

I couldn't make this event and would like to know how the night was :)

I was waiting for this thread too. What a ing INCREDIBLE night. Set was almost technically flawless start to finish and the energy just didn't stop. He pulled a crazy dubstep breakdown at one point which drove everyone wild...really unexpected . He brought some amazing tracks from both him and other big names and definitely lived up to the hype.

Scary story... My buddy's wallet got pickpocketed in the main room within the first hour, so that kinda sucked. About half an hour later, my friend and I saw the guy who did it doing it to someone else. I told my buddy to keep an eye on him while I went to get the bouncer at the bottom of the stairs. I walked over and the bouncer told me he couldn't leave this spot, but flagged another one over pointing at me saying "HELP HIM OUT". Of course, with Dash's set just starting and the main room going nuts, it was a bit loud. The other bouncer thought he said "KICK HIM OUT", and I got dragged by my shirt neck for a good distance...I was screaming at him "NONONONONONONONO STOP STOP STOP" but he just continued until I finally broke free and grabbed the first bouncer screaming at him to help me... So then the other bouncer mishears AGAIN and starts dragging me AGAIN, but the first one grabbed my other arm and I was like in a tug of war between two bouncers until he finally realized what was going on. After all that we didn't even catch the ing pickpocketer...What a mess...and now my shirt's all ripped :(

This is only the beginning. I predict actual dubstep artists/DJs to start playing at Guv mainroom in the near future if this reaction is any indication.

Sorry to hear about your buddy's wallet. You try to be a good samaritan and prevent someone else's wallet from being stolen and look what happens!

I looked through all of yours and Shaya's pictures and saw nothing.

He was about 5'8", hispanic, clean shaven, wearing a black leather-y coat with a round black hat that tipped down over his eyes. He would go up behind someone dancing and lightly brush over their back with his right hand a few times, then in one smooth motion, go into their back right pocket and disappear to the left. He was there with another taller hispanic/white mixed guy who was dancing with a short white girl - someone I assume he was dropping the wallets off to. When confronted, they all denied it and said they'd fight us. To be honest, I was there with 9 friends and we coulda taken all three of them to the ground NO PROBLEM, but the way I see it is if you're there jacking people's cash, you probably have something on you to defend yourself in case goes sour. Losing a few replaceable cards and cash > getting stabbed imo

He won't be so fortunate next time I see him in the main room though, because I can pick him out in a heartbeat.

EDIT: Almost all of these incidents occurred in the same spot: About as deep as the dancer platform in the middle of the main room, but lined up with the stairs and the right speakers (if facing the stage).

EDIT 2: The black hat was a fedora - the name was escaping me at the original time I posted.

Rusko is already booked in April and he's pretty up there for dubstep artists. There will definitely be more in the future as dubstep is blowing up with the younger crowd (dont ask me why) who're always keen on going on and spending (prime target market for clubs).

Odd I def heard the same story from a Guy when I was at Paul Van Dyk...Seems there is a Serial Pick-Pocketer at Guv! Not Good!!

If it's the same guy(s) doing it all the time, we'll definitely catch him. I won't be at Gareth Emery, but keep that description in mind and keep an eye out. I'll be looking for him at Laidback Luke and Decadence for sure.

I also didn't mention that at one point we found my other buddy's wallet on the floor with the cards still in place, but $120 cash missing, so it appears he's just going for the cash.

I messaged you on Facebook with my BBM PIN if you have a BlackBerry. If not I can always reach Vic/Jerome pretty easily.
