About time McGuinty govt does something right

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...article1917148/

quote:
It’s enough to make a conscientious liquor inspector wake up in a cold sweat: People at festivals. Roaming free of the beer tent. With drinks.

This is not your father’s Ontario, but it could soon be yours under a proposed loosening of the province’s liquor laws. Along with free-range imbibing at festivals and other events, the Liberal government wants to allow drinking until 2 a.m. at weddings and fundraisers, and the sale of all-inclusive boozy vacations to tourists.

The part that was underreported was the attorney general saying that in the same law they are going to "make liquor violations face them same harsh penalties."

Translation: We are going to really crack down hard on clubs and bars. Can you imagine when they start treating an empty beer can after 2:45 or a smoker the same as a bar brawl or an underager?

You think the AGCO is run amok now? Just wait!

Typical mcguinty smoke and mirrors. Wow the audience with magic tricks while simultaneously pickpocketing them.

Im not buying it!

I'm not buying it either hence Rjs "election year" thing, which is so true but still...if they actually DO something and stick to it then it's something...meh.

How about extending last call in bars till at least 4am (or abolish it all together) and making alcohol available at convenient stores
