Anyone tried this?
Clueless as to why there isnt an overall mix option
seems odd,
can do great stuff, its pretty brutal though, even using as a sends optons isnt quite the same a an overall mix toggle would be

As stated in the other thread, I bought it at the introductory price and it's pretty cool, but it's definitely lacking in a few areas and several of us have voiced complaints in the rather lengthy thread over at KVR. The lack of a mix option is just stupid, as is the fact that it doesn't expose any of its parameters to a host, so there's no way to automate it or assign the parameters to a controller for real-time performance. That's a huge oversight/fail IMO, particularly considering the regular price ($249!). What's worse is that Izotope chimed in on that KVR thread to say that they won't be adding these features because they don't think that they're necessary, despite compelling arguments from it user base to the contrary. If the regular price was $149 or less, I'd recommend it, but $249 is way overpriced IMO, especially when you consider that other similar products (e.g., Artillery 2, Effectrix, The Finger, Glitch) cost much less. |

they kinda missed the boat on the whole electro stutter thing. I think Reaktor is way more powerful for this kind of stuff. |

Agreed. Have you checked out The Finger? It's built on the Reaktor engine and is pretty fun and functional. But, yeah, you're probably right about these effects already being somewhat dated. Doesn't bother me, though - I like these kind of these toys. :) |

Can one just buy and use the finger without having some sort of NI platform? I ask this as I know nothing of NI but have in the back of my mind that you need to already own some sort of NI platform in order to use thier products.
Also is it dongle free - I've checked the finger on thier site but it just shows 4 vids but not any text I can find about dongles or platforms. |

The Finger works on the Reaktor engine, so you need to have either Reaktor, Kore 1/2, or the free Reaktor player. They also have a free Kore Player, but I'm not sure if The Finger works with that (but, I doubt it). None of these requires a dongle - NI uses a S/N system and their Service Center software for managing licenses, although I don't think you need to use Service Center for their freebies (i.e., the Reaktor and Kore Players). |

its just a shame, izotope genereally make great things, a dry/wet toggle would of been a doddle, its mainly aimed at live stuff im sure |
