FYI it seems Logic pro cant bounce down bigger files than 2GB. |
2gb that more or less 3 hours and 20 mins at 16/44.1. Can't we go over that limit when running logic in 64 bit? Haven't tried myself yet, no time for that at the moment. :-) |

| i think i run mine in 64bit (disabled 32bit mode in the info-pane on the app-icon) and it didnt work here atleast. not a big deal but i had to convert to mp3 using iTunes instead. I have no idea which encoder is best (iTunes vs Logic). I ing hate mp3, ill ditch it any day now. |

IMO,
in example a track, that ends into an effect, which acts as an opening effect for the next track / same atmosphere from track to track. It's hard to do in separate files. I see this as a key thing in making it an album instead of a collection of separate tracks. Taking the musical consistency of the tracks for granted of course..
No level changes etc. overall quality is the same throughout the album.
Might try it for 3-4 tracks. |
ahh i see , nice idea but i can imagine what a mess it is to have such a big project opened. |

Can you not automate the on/off of all your devices to save cpu?
So while certain tracks are redundant, everything is switched off, automated to turn on when necessary and off again when finished. Would still be a messy project but the cpu wouldn't be that great.
Am I cracking up or is there no reason why this isn't possible? I can't think why I haven't done this on single projects to help things run smoothly... |

| im going to try nevertheless. limitations is usually good. a minimal set for example. i dont think its necesarry to automate mute because when theres no midi to trigger the intsruments, no actual code are run (maybe). |

anyone? |

| pretty sure they both use LAME... however Logic's mp3 encoding takes a lot longer so go with that :P |

| ill do some testing one day to compare the renders. |

Just use FLAC instead.
Down with MP3! |

| We don't even need FLAC anymore really. It's not like harddrive space is an issue, and who doesn't have a fast enough internet connection to download an hour of .wav files? Let's stop compressing audio. |
