It sounds good apart from the very basic open hat.
To get it to inspire a direction I would suggest in the main part to have a 2 bar drop on the 7th and 8th bar where it all goes in and out of a plug - hole with massive stagger stutter drums ala dubstep style.

Good thinking. I do hear open hats in certain songs and they fit really well, this one does sort of seem rather bland in the mix... maybe some tighter hihats would help. Break it down, and perhaps build really big. Arrangement is the hardest part for me I think.
Just gave it a go, hehe. Ear's are pretty much toast right now. Not too sure about the way a few things sound in this. It could be really good, or it could be really bad. haha

Sounding nice n bouncy. I didn't mean ditch an open hat alltogether, just that the one you had prior was too basic.
I reckon you can make that bass sound better mate. Also layer it with another more agressive tone and then manipulate the filter etc all the way through so it's not just a staic bassline - this is when a track comes to life for me.

Like this concept, got me grooving a bit lol lol lol - try to add low freq and deep bass line, very simply just to support this kick and you will get yourself and nice groovy rhythm.
