FACEBOOK NOTE
Her note:
Hi... I never thought i would.. but..
....unfortunately I must go on to write this:
I'd just like to ask... does a girl deserve to be beat up for smoking?? because this is exactly what happened.. My Place, a small after hours on St Laurent in Montreal... was the venue to some violence on Saturday night as the owner decided it would be ok to fully assault me for smoking on stage. He rushed me like a linebacker and I was thrown around like a rag doll and feared for my equipment more than for myself. This psycho was ready to throw the computer. He also went on to hit my other girlfriend.. who was just trying to help me when she saw what was happening. Sorry.. i didn't know smoking warranted a beating.
Dear Monsieur Ghislain Basque.. owner of My Place on St. Laurent in Montreal. This is the beginning of the end for you and your little after hours. I will expose you for who you are .. a drunk and a woman beater.. charges are coming fast and furious and i hope you will learn your lesson. what a douche.
To my fans. this is not a cry for help or for comments..it's me.. very upset at the fact of being assaulted WHILE PLAYING!!.. and asking you all to please please please never go to this place. I can't just stand around and say nothing.. and before posts go up with Saturday's situation.. I thought I'd clear it up.
Looking forward to forgetting all about this. It just needs to go away. |

Hmmm... strange story.
Probably some truth in there, but find it hard to believe. |

wow, totally crazy.
But was it the first or seventh time that she was asked to put it off.
I am saying not because it's ok to beat up anyone, but bouncers are usually not to be ed with especially regarding their patience.
Anyways, to be followed. |

oyoyoyoyoyoy.
the comments section is hilarious.
No matter who did what, this guy is going to pay for this...because My Place is technically an illegal establishment no? Getting the cops involved = oh oh.
Either way thanks for the link...the guy seems to be answering the charges on facebook, so it should be entertaining:p |

| just finished reading the comments...man this guy is not too bright. Not taking sides at all, but it seems to me that when you are acused of something, you put your pride away, shut up, and let someone like a lawyer answer for you. wow lol. |

| Personally, I hate this story because it could take away the small amount of patience that the cops have shown with many afterhour events in private venues, which fall in some sort of grey zone in this city (loophole in the law).... |

Quite unbelievable - but it happened - it was quite ugly and shocking. I was facing the booth and saw the whole thing
My comment on fb
Ghislain,
Look - even without the incident - there would be no reason to recommend 'My Place'. The whole process/experience - from the entrance door locked to being collected to the ""open bar" to the barmaid and coat check services to the... sound issue - was crap and lacked of professionalism.
Quite interesting:
Collecting money to ladies accompanying your 'guest' dj when your club is empty?
Smoking inside but not letting others?
Refusing to serve shooters but doing shooters with staff in front of clients?
Who the f*ck you think you are? is the question you should have asked yourself rather then others.
You brutalized her first. Period.
Nothing can justify your violent comportment, power trip
and lack of judgment.
This is definitely not the way security staff proceeds when someone smokes in an establishment ... and not a way to take care of your guests.
Finally, if you are so worry about 'illegal activities' in your establishment - from what i have heard and seen - you should rethink the whole concept.... give the example and be more careful... |

- Hi Mr Policeman, I would like to file a complaint for physical assault.
- Oh, sorry to hear that, where was that?
- In an illegal after-hours.
- O rly? and what happen?
- Owner assaulted me because I was smoking inside.
- You were?
- Yeah but it wasn't tobacco, it was drugs.
- Oh I see. You are not from here right, do you have a work permit to play there?
- no
- hmmmm... strong case. Come with me please...
