Anjunabeach ... ?

Sorry people, but this has probably been a topic numerous times. Only the first time in this forum, usually im in the production forum.

I just want to know your guys's thoughts and opinion on Anjunabeats - and what above and beyond are doing the for "the scene". I like what they do for the scene in a way - just the massive amount of promotion for trance, but in that, they have most def contributed to the massive commercialization of Trance. It doesnt seem like its the music for the love of music anymore, but for the flash and glam, the shock factor generated in the listeners and some superficial like that.

BUT... I still listen to TATW quite often, And i do really like alot of tracks played on TATW, but im begining not to as I learn more and more about production and as I work on my own tracks.

What do you guys think. - again sorry for the redundancy, im sure this topic has been talked about alot here.

I'm glad they keep the dreamy, hands in the sky style of trance alive. Armin, Schulz, etc. have essentially all moved to banging club-style trance, which is fine, but I like A&B for keeping the slower stuff around.

Their popularity (especially in the US) has increased a ton in the last couple of years, so they may change soon. I still get the distinct impression that at least Paavo absolutely loves the music, though, so hopefully they don't get TOO commercial.

I like a lot of music, so I have no problem with vocal tracks, even if the lyrics are cheesy. However, having the vocals come first and the quality of production second is a huge problem, and Sun & Moon seems to be one of those tracks. I hope more tracks from their new album reveal that it's simply a money-making, radio-ready single designed to push the album rather than an indicator for the future of their productions.

The days of A&B being credible have long since past. Imo their style is now is just as bad as Armin, Tiesto, etc. Their's is without a doubt amongst some of the most cheese produced by any mainstream artists these days.

Anjunadeep is way way way way better than anything A&B puts out. If you want quality music, and not just some hands-in-the-air PLUR-fest, listen to some artists on Anjunadeep (Andrew Bayer, Eelke Kleijn, Jaytech) to name a few.

Much agreed, though I personally dont like Sun And Moon that much. Its catchy, but to much cheese for me xD. Anyways, I do also like how they keep the deeper, slower house-edged-trance playing. I cant stand a lot of tracks on ASOT, or even Armada as a whole lol. Hurts my ears. Not to say they ALWAYS release bad tracks, there are a rare few good ones here and there. I do still listen to Schulz's Global Dj a bit. Got some great tracks from those episodes. I just hope anjuna doesnt move forward with the commercial scene to much. I'm def looking forward to Anjunadeep 03.

Indeed. As I said before Anjunadeep 03, mixed by jaytech and James Grant i believe is gonna be pretty awesome. I agree to as far as anjunadeep artists. Andrew bayer is pretty awesome but his buildups go no where xD.

Yes, because people are not allowed to ask questions on internet forums. It is strictly forbidden.
