Karl Pilkington is my idol. Started listening to the original podcast series when it made it's debut and downloaded a tonne of their XFM shows dating back to 2001. Some of the stuff he has said is just mind-numbing.

"I'm just saying, I don't like fun"
"I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"
I've actually bought all 3 of his books and will be lending them to v-vaughn shortly (I'm still educating her on Ricky).

don't really like him or his brand of humour.
However Karl Pilkington is the !
just cannot get enough of him and he really is the only reason i watch that show.

I have heard about this guy. Having seen the videos, I need to get into it properly - sheer class! :D I doubt it is scripted ny Merchant and Gervais, as there are not enough hours is in a day to make this up. It took the pair a year to write a single series of The Office, etc. Also, Pilkington was apparently a hit on the radio before he partnered up with the pair of them.

Not true. He was the producer given to Ricky and Stephen when they decided to do a show on XFM. Occasionally they involved him in their conversations and started to realize what an odd character he was. He became more and more involved with the show as it went on.
