Hey there,
A quick note to anyone who reads this forum. I am currently seeking someone to sign with for a contract deal. I have been spinning progressive trance and ambiance, along with melodic and hardest trance for over 6 years. I have done many many dubs and demos, and now I am looking to land a record deal compiling a posible contract with a major productions company. Where do I begin? Everyone that I have given my interest in has turned me away or would rather stick me in a frat house with a bunch of college kids whom don't give a how good you spin as long as there is a party going on and they are invited! I want to start from the bottom and get to the top, maybe before I am 35 I will be greatful to have done a rave such as "Gatecrasher" or some . I have the talent, but not alot of resources..... and if someone knows where I can make path to success and freedom please let me know. I really want to be tearing it up for all you trance loving fans out there.

From what I've experience.....

I started young......got to know DJs......got some friends in the recording industry, etc.......

Basically, all I can say at your point is just to go out to the labels instead of them coming to you.

robably also walk up in the studio w/ some amazing song you remixed and they will liek you more......:D

Time is the key, to success, by finding contacts and creating relationships in the circle.

there's no one given way to making it out there

but one thing often found is that big name djs started out with residencies, yet that's not a must, but it's a +

oh and by the way ... you're never gonna strike it big as a small name ... into a major music production company, that's just lunacy...

take you're time, and don't hesitate to mix at crappy places, as long as they are real, and help you build up a resume, in which case frat parties aren't a good idea, but bars, clubs the tiest as can be can possibly help you build something.

don't hesitate to go to raves, clubs, and places you don't even like just to talk about what you do and try to meet new people and get yourself known

off course you're gonna be in odd spots if you're open to doing any dj job , but that's the route I recommend, if you plan on going big, take the crappy jobs for the money , and on the side try to build yourself a base by doing things like raves and clubs were you'll have more feedback in the long term

in this business it's not what you know, it's who you know

and being in the right place at the right time

get out, meet people, make contacts
i've only been djing for about 6 months, but i just happen to be in the right place at the right time, and a few peeps are interested in having me spin :)
