Hey ppl. I know I haven't posted much but as they say on tv..."Hi my name's orpheus. Long time listener, first time caller".
Anyhoo, I just signed up for my first ever live set. I will be playing from 4:30 - 6:00 on Friday 1 Nov at the Macquarie Uni weekly DJ and Jugs night.
I'm thinking of doing a funky breaks -> funky house -> prog. house -> trance set.
I'm nervous already.
If you are in the area, head on over and we''l have a beer or two (they give me a $25 bar tab).
See ya there. And who knows...one day... |

| getting this gig was sooo easy. all I did was go to the entertainment office at the uni and asked if I could have a go. I will do this for a while, just to get over the nerves of playing infront of a crowd and then maybe enter some DJ comps. I've also found that when you go ouy clubbing, make an effort to talk to the djs you like. get to know them. you know the saying. just last sunday @ SOS i bumped into a mate of mine from uni who was playing the warm-up set. I will continue now to keep in contact. I might pass on a demo tape at some stage. fingers crossed. It's all about networking though. |

| I only met Kerrin a couple of weeks ago, when he was playing @ DJ and Jugs. I saw him play at Altitude before though. He's pretty damn good. I hope he wins that DJ comp on thursday. I'll be there cheering him on. You should come too. |

How is Macquarie these days?
DJs & Jugs used to be fairly quiet if I remember correctly... |

| Club Mac is pretty cruisey(?). DJ & Jugs is fairly quiet. For me, it's about playing the music that you love hearing, and playing it infront of ppl who may or may not have experienced it before. I'm doing it for 2 reasons. 1. I love trance and 2. I'm getting experience playing to an audience (even though it is pretty small). |

| Hope you play well mate, playing in front of a crowd is REALLY bloody scary the first few times but you get more used to it. Just got with the flow, have a look at the mixer before hand, work out how the cue and gains work and just give it all, don't be scared to try some interesting stuff, it's better to make a little mistake and have a really interesting set than make no mistakes and be boring. Just my ideas. Good luck anyway. |

| Thanks for your support DynaFire. I had a look at the set-up last friday, and it's not too bad. I might see if I can bring my own mixer, but then again, I'm not going to be able to take my mixer to every gig, so I should probably use theirs. |
