After the huge success of the re-launch party hosted at their new home Venus, the Manchester based brand are back with the next instalment of RONG doings proving that Trance still firmly has a place in the heart of Manchester’s club scene.
RONG is a night that is all about the music, forever armed with a tight bill of talent from a spectrum of global cutting edge and elite trance acts, under the roof of an intimate and underground home. This carefully conjured recipe allows RONG’uns alike to put their trance pants on, and lose their inhibitions on the dance floor and indulge in the pure love of euphoric breakdowns, spine tingling melodies, uplifting riffs and thumping baselines – complimented by an every friendly and energetic atmosphere! This is one of few underground nights in the North West keeping the spark for trance well and truly ignited by still recognising its demand as a highly credible and ever popular genre. So if you are RONG in all the right ways, this is certainly your bag!
Following on from ‘the Judge’ – headliner of the last huge event, RONG now welcomes to their stage one of the hottest properties in the trance scene right now - UK DJ/Producer Simon Patterson. His offerings as a producer have captivated audiences near and far seeing him play some of biggest international events. Also, his monster track ‘Taxi’ has seen dance floors worldwide get a real ‘seeing to’. Signed exclusively to the hugely respected Spinnin’ Records, Simon’s music has earned him massive support from industry leaders such as Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Armin van Burren, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules and Above & Beyond.
Joining him in the RONG doings will be Trances’ newly crowned queen and worlds no.1 female DJ – Claudia Cazacu. The Romanian born beauty boasts an impressive discography with massive releases on the Spinnin’ and Armada group labels. Hugely recognised by her massive hit ‘free falling featuring Audrey Gallagher’, Claudia is fast becoming well established within the scene playing worldwide alongside some of the biggest names in the business.
And that’s not all folks...
RONG also welcome to their stage another very special guest - UK DJ/Producer Mark Sherry. After his huge success as Public Domain DJ, Mark re-launched himself into the trance circuit with fresh enthusiasm and dedication seeing him launch his own weekly radio show ‘Outburst’ and also knocking up a number of impressive productions under his belt. Couple that with playing some of biggest international events such as Trance Energy, Dance Valley to name a few, this is one DJ who is certainly not afraid of hard work and knows how to work a crowd. Finally, joining this tight trio of acts will be Garuda resident Adam Flexer, RONG resident James Rigby and local lads ‘The Technicians’.
Room two will be taken hostage by the RONG DJs ‘Morriarty and MoneyPenny’ as they present a selection of the best local talent in the Trance scene from across the North West who have represented the likes of Goodgreef, Kiddfectious, Off the Rails (OTR), to name a few.
So... with a bang-tidy line-up, a reputation for the party always going off, and a selection of drinks promos on all night... do you need any more reasons to get RONG...??

Venus has a new home. Venus has purchased a purpose built venue just for you and will be open in Feb 2010. Venus the brand has been going since 1999 and one of the UK’s longest running weekly house nights. The club will be known as Venus the Club.
Venus started at the end of March 1999 by a team of promoters who longed to find the perfect sized venue to be able to create fantastic atmosphere with the very best DJ’s and music the scene has to offer... A venue that would also e free from idiots, beer monsters and trouble causers.
“We would rather have quality than quantity”, is our moto, and it is that together with our unique blend of music, fantastic crowd and atmosphere that ensures Venus goes from strength to strength as each week and year goes by.
Each week Venus brings you the UK's cream of the crop house DJ’s that are not there because of a name, but because they know how to rock “OUR” crowd... And many have become legends because of that! RONG: Hi Claudia, hope your well? Firstly, we would like to congratulate you on getting into the DJ Mag Top 100 this year & as a result being crowned The World's No.1 Female DJ. How does it feel & how did you react when you found out?
Claudia Cazacu: It?s pretty amazing, I?m really really grateful to everyone who has supported me over the past year, of course all DJs want to make it into the Top 100 and I didn?t actually think I would make it let alone be the only female. My parents are very proud.
RONG: You launched your Couture record lable in 2007 & your well know for being a very stylish DJ.What is your favourite clothing brand & of all the places you have travelled over the past few years, where is your favourite place to shop?
Claudia Cazacu: Well it all depends what you are dressing for... If I had been on the red carpet at the Oscars this weekend I think it would be hard to decide between Versace and Roberto Cavalli, their dresses are absolutely amazing. For general wear I love Dolce & Gabbana and a little Italian designer called Denny Rose ? absolutely love their clothes right now.
The great thing about traveling all over the world is that I get to shop everywhere and its really cool to be able to pick up bits and pieces I wouldn?t find here in London.
RONG: Your due to play at the ASOT 500 in Brabanthallen, Den Bosch on 09/01/2011 alongside Trance heavyweights including, Paul Oakenfold, Above & Beyond, Marcus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Giuseppe Ottaviani, John O'Callaghan & of course Armin Van Buuren. When you started out as a DJ / Producer many years ago, if someone had told you at the time that one day you would be ranked amoungst the worlds best DJ's / play at such a high profile event along side the scenes elite artists, would you have believed them?
Claudia Cazacu: I still can?t believe that I get to do this for a living, I really feel very lucky to do what I love every day. It?s an absolute honour to play ASOT 500 and I?m really looking forward to catching some sets from the amazing talent that will be performing.
RONG: Like Simon & Mark, You too have had some fantastic succsess in the charts with your production's over the last few years. tell us a little bit about your musical background & the key ingredients in the recipie of chart success...
Claudia Cazacu: I went to music school when I was growing up in Romania and learned the violin... That was however quite a long time ago so I?ve been taking piano lessons for the last 18 months and spend every spare minute I have in front of Logic working on new ideas.
RONG: How do you think Trance Music's DJ's, Producers & Events around the world have evolved from the 90's where it all began?
Claudia Cazacu: I?ve seen videos from the early raves of 1992 and they looked amazing. The scene is constantly evolving and even now I think the trance scene especially is changing musically with the tech trance sound slowing down and finding space within the production. I like change, keeps things exciting.
RONG: We're looking forward to your debut set for RONG @ Venus on 01/04/2011 - You played at Sankeys last September for Goodgreef Presents: Dusk Till Doorn alongside Sander Van Doorn & Jordan Suckley. Are you looking forward to your return to Manchester & how would describe the crowd up'North?
Claudia Cazacu: I had such a great time at Sankeys because the crowd were so up for it, im sure Rong will be a fantastic night and I cant wait to get the crowd rocking.
RONG: Finally, have you got anything exciting in the pipeline for 2011 that you would like to talk about?
