What? :conf:
I'm not being judgmental, negative or critical, in any way.
I'm just telling him what he wants to hear. |

| I know.. But its okay, because a man who doesn't try doesn't make progress. |

| this rocks so good! i think you should send it to angello and ingrosso and ask if they would like to release it. im sure they will, its soo good. awesome. with this on your discography you dont really need to make anything more as nothing will ever be able to compete with this. |

Alright, all sarcasm aside, there's a few things I heard throughout all your tracks that remind me of myself when I was 12-13 and started messing around with trackers.
First off, when a beat sounds 'interesting' or 'never heard that before', it's probably because it's garbage, and you shouldn't try to shove it down people's throats. A lot of stuff seems to be either skipping beats or being 1/8th too late, or other stuff like that. Make it all linear and organized. If you're trying to make breakdown beats, show us that you can do a proper kick+bassline first, and then try to get adventurous with the cores of a song.
Instrument quality: i don't know what you're using, but it sounds like the basic crap that comes out of any stock midi piano. STOP. USING. IT. Get some nice samples, good kicks, a nice variety of REAL recorded instruments, and work with that. If you don't know how to play with sounds using pingpongs, saturation, reverbs, choruses, then use them as-is first, and go learn that stuff pronto. A LOT can be achieved if you simply replace your samples.
And most of all
VOLUME CONTROL! All the songs seem to be suffering from the dreaded too-many-things-at-the-same-time issue (it happens to me often as well, but not as bad as in some of your songs). You have to listen, re-listen and fix the volume of your bass, kicks, hithats, melody, chords melody, whatever there is playing, so it doesn't sound like you suddenly bumped up kicks for no reason and we can't hear anything else anymore.
I've commented your "One" track with the aforementioned issues.
Now, I'm new here, but it doesn't seem like you're very willing to change your tracks. I still have my Callisto track that I'm working on, simply because I "dared" to accept the critics I recieved and I am -still- working on it. Churning out 5 songs a week isn't going to make you any better if you can't make your older tracks sound better. I know it's exciting to produce tracks, but in this case, as in most cases, QUALITY reigns over quantity, no matter how much of a noob or a professional you are. |

Great feedback. I really appreciate it. Yes, the instruments I'm using are Init patches, and then I am creating the sounds from scratch. So everything in "One" was either a multi oscillator, tuned, with freq and res, I know these synths in Reason are capable of creating big sounds. I'm just workin on it. As far as kicks, hi-hats, and snares. I'm using the basic drum kit that was included. I don't imagine it would be that expensive to upgrade, but I've noticed the sounds do tend to be more 90's sounding. THere are much more awesome synths out there, but, Im sticking with creating my own. Someone on here recently came down on me for wanting to be 100% organic. I do. I can't just load a patch or insert a combinator and be like, oh. here's my track. I really want to learn and make the sounds on my own. So has a result. Some of my tracks do sound a little dated. But they're 100$ me, well except that the song was a "remix" lol
These last two tracks were really my first attempts at remixes. I've devoted a lot of time and energy into creating my own riffs, bass drums, and tracks however, I've only used my keyboard to pound out different melodies, chorus, and such. However, I'm not liking the results. So now, I've decided to draw my notes, melodies and, riffs. I have to do it. I actually have one that I'm workin on now, that integrates my drawing capability. It seems labor intensive though but at least its 100% as soon as the bar is done. I found myself messing up a lot playing on the keyboard, and getting uniqueness was pretty difficult. Now though, drawing seems like a much more sutiable way to go and the variations are immense.
Nonetheless. Thanks again for listening. I'm definitely going to keep this track handy so future upgrades can be made to it. But besides the riff, I loved the break beat. LOL! I made that myself =)
Peace! |

every RadioHead song ever created. What a great
band. I also stumbled across this track and I
felt like I needed to redo it. Although nothing
will ever compare to the original, although I
see promise as a DeadMau5 or Swedish House Mafia
remake, I took a turn at it. Here's what I got
done. Hope you enjoy it!

I know exactly what you mean. Its really hard to "redo" such an awesome track. And to be perfectly honest w/ you it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. I know that begs the question as to why I shared but, it felt like an already completed puzzle that I couldn't just go rip it all apart and do it again. It ended up being what it is although, I am going to "redo" it again but this time, with more of an electro feel to it. Integrating the vocals, and the huge organ/synth sound that is raging in the original. Look, you might take offense to it, but its a track that when I heard it I played it over and over and over again. It was brilliantly crafted, with sounds that are exactly what I like. Now, I'm sure I'm right there with million other people, but I had to try. So, I'll off, but Radiohead is the best! |

Actually, that is something you shouldnt be scared of. Its hard to listen to something you made objectively and decide whether it works with the song or not. Often I'll be fiddling and will find something that sounds awesome, but doesnt quite match the context of the song, instead of trying to force it in its better to just move on. A little bit of vision for how you want it to hear goes a long way.
Also, a while back I wanted to make specifically a tribal type song, but it ended up changing direction halfway through and become more goa trance. When it was finished and I was happy with it, I saved it, then saved it as a new project, and promptly deleted every pattern. I then re-made the song from the ground up using my original idea, and it still came out awesome, despite using the exact same sounds as the one before it. |

My Brother has been practicing nothing but making grooves, sorta 8 bar loops for 3 years now, on a Roland workstation. He's trying to get the sounds and mixing and feel right before making whole tracks. I don;t think many people on this Earth have raw producing talent. In the main it's years of dedication and single mindedness. |
