Nice relaxing track, not a surprise that I like it I guess.
What do you think of this track my friend Lisaya made? No vocals this time, but a self made video :)
To be clear, I'm not Lisaya, he's a friend and relative.

wow i like it, the bassline is close to what i usually use, i love that kind of basslines and the breakdown and chord progressions are brilliant, is definitely better than most of the stuff released in all the "great" uplifting trance labels.

i'm sorry this is the real uplifting song. Melody for almost 3 mins can't go wrong on how many goosebumps I get.
why do people complain about trance like really, it's something if another producer copy's another melody straight etc. but when Arctic Moon has had the same sound for the past 3 years, means he really isn't copying anyone. Personally I love seeing tracks by Arctic Moon or (Arctic Moon Remix) why because it's GONNA BE A DIFFERENT and have an original sound everytime and I KNOW that buildup is gonna send me straight to heaven fist pumping my way there.

Arctic Moon is generic, but this track Adelaide is not that bad.
And yes, Uplifting Trance is sounding the same sh*t right now. Same pads, basslines, 4 hours breakdowns etc... This kind of productions are very easy to hear (no car alarms, plic ploc) but it's EXTREMELY boring
Only a few producers doing decent uplifting.
And hey, what about labels? Their fault too, huh :whip:

whoa it's like a broken record

LOL, it's not that i hate uplifting trance.
It's that it currently is dead to my ears.
New tunes that come out today have become formulaic , just like this Arctic Moon track.
Sorry to say it, but i like my uplifting trance either without fake orchestra derps or in full blown overdrive like the following uplifting track, which is just epic in my ears:
And another slammer, less energetic, but more spreadable:
Thing is that what i like as uplifting is somewhat different than what is palated to the masses.
It's not out of a desire to be different as i couldn't care less, it's purely out of difference in taste.
Here an uplifting track you uplifting trance liking peeps might like, that i like because of it's melodies and harmonies:
For me it's the melodies and harmonies that determine if i like a track or not.
Here's a japanese uplifting trancer i like, you might like it as well:

Interesting that it begins reasonably, then entices and then flutters between nice bitter-sweet melancholic and utter trite and then closes.
If this is the most interesting that 2011 has to offer in terms of uplifting, then i'll gladly skip uplifting this year as well.
I mean, you tried finding something worthwhile and it ended up being half worthwhile for me.

Decent, but it doesn't really entice as much as the previous one and somehow that golden feeling i had in the past with much of the uplifting sound then doesn't really break through here.
It's by no means bad, but it doesn't hit the spot.

Actually, up to 2:00 or so i was interested, hooked by a smart buildup.
At about 3:00 it was beginning to dawn to me that somehow my ears were being filled with blandness, @ 4:00 that was a certainty.
Then i was thinking about what tracks like these make me think of, it was an eerie feeling of familiarity, something that can only be explained through the following vid on YouTube:
Yes, i think trance has gotten its own chords of awesome, the same chord sequences that govern trance hits and that govern the selection criteria of the trance labels.

Doing the same thing over and over again means that innovation is dead and entropic death has ensued.
Arctic Moon honors his name, his style is frozen stiff.
And yes, he's copying someone: Himself.

If you like his tracks, so be it, but don't attack people for criticizing an artist for being stale and stagnant.

Worst defense against criticism.
So you like seeing a painter painting similar paintings over and over again from the same artist, with near exactly the same composition only a few shape differences and different colors?
You like watching Scooby Doo marathons?
A consumer can and will criticize, if enough consumers turn away, maybe things'll change.
Honestly, i couldn't care less what Arctic Moon and other producers do, i do care that labels and the masses are attracted like flies to trance, because it does limit the production of quality trance.
Read my signature for completion.

I only listened to your first two listed tracks and a question popped into my head; does every uplifting trance track need a 2min+ breakdown?
You make a point about doing the same thing over and over again, but aren't the tracks you posted doing just that or is the two minute breakdown something that somehow avoids that scrutiny?

Honestly, i couldn't care about 2+ minute breakdowns if they're appropriate, necessary or not distracting.
I have produced a few tracks myself with 2+ minute breakdowns just because i thought they were necessary/appropriate.
If you don't like those breakdowns then you don't like'em, it's not as if you need to like'em.
