Greetings EDM Lovers,
Iv been wondering how things would work, if the label was removed from the equation, that is, the Artist has control over promotion/distribution of their work ?
I have seen tunecore, and others do this, but they dont deliver to stores like beatport/djdownload, and their promo services (jango airplay) sux...
What I mean, is a service that provides:
1. Promotion to EDM DJ's (with forced feedback)
2. Ability to create Artwork
3. Ability to distribute to stores like beatport/djdownload/juno/itunes/audio jelly for a fixed rate
4. At least 60% payout for sales
How much do you think something like this cost ?
$60 promos ?
$20 distribution ? |

1. Forced? How are you going to force feedback? Threaten them over the internet? LOL.
2. Let's see some of your artwork, assuming you'll do this all on your own? If it's , no one will want it. Or, if you hire good designers, see point #4
3. That's not as hard as you might think. Surely you've seen the massive amount of junk out there on these sites?
4. If you're distributing to "beatport/djdownload/juno/itunes/audio jelly" then you can't afford that. Plain and simple. Especially if no one knows who you are. |

;) I should have said:
Forced Feedback->DJ's cannot download the promo unless they give feedback

AFAIK, a partnership would need to be made with a distributor to do that, but I understand your point! |
