Finally heading down to Amsterdam to check out Sensation this year! What's a nice hotel to stay at (my budget is around $150/night) and I want to stay there for about 4 nights. Close proximinity to the Arena would be nice but what's the main area that is most convenient (restaurants, entertainment, shopping, etc.) Thanks and anyone else planning to go?

We stayed here when we went in '04 purely for the novelty...

It was a pretty decent hotel actually...

Ask for a water side room because drunk ppl walking on the dock is pretty loud apparently...

Personally I wouldn't stay right where the Arena is b/c you're farther away from the downtown area. The only stuff around there is the Arena, the Heineken Music Hall etc. I would stay downtown and just take the subway to the Arena. Most people will be anyway, and it'll only be a 15 min. ride.

Can't help you with hotels though b/c I had an apartment, sorry.

i stayed at the park plaza victoria amsterdam when i went to trance energy in 2008. gorgeous hotel, right on the damrak across from central station. such friendly staff and walking distance to all the main sights really in amsterdam. amsterdam arena was about a 10 min train ride or so away.

Me and Veronica stayed at the Grand Amrath amsterdam a few weeks ago for Energy. Very clean and unlimited bar fridge. It is 5 star though so kinda pricey, but a 2 minute walf from the Centraal Station and 5 minute walk from the Red light district.
