Now that we have settled into our new home at the revamped Society of Arts and Technology (SAT), the MUTEK team is pleased to reveal the first performers for the festival's highly anticipated 12th edition! MUTEK 2011 will take place from June 1st to the 5th in numerous indoor and outdoor venues throughout the ever-growing Quartier des Spectacles. We can't wait to convert this thriving cultural sector of downtown Montreal into our own digital playground.

As with every year, our goal is to present a wide mix of artists and performers who range from the well-known looking to redefine themselves, to those breakthrough acts who will no doubt fascinate unsuspecting audiences. This is just the tip of the iceberg for what we expect to be one of MUTEK's most ambitious editions yet.

If that's just the tip of the iceberg in terms of bookings, I'm buying a Mutek pass this year.

Very nice but Modeselektor and other Dubstep-type shows just don't do it for me.

Amon Tobin on the other hand, hell yeah!!! Last time I saw him live it was at Theatre Corona in 2005 I think, Spliter Cell party, Tobin made the soundtrack for the 3rd one i believe. It was amazing, lots of breaks and drum & bass. Genius stuff!

Amon Tobin is one of my favorite artists ever, I'm very glad he's back!! Saw him at Metropolis in 2007 and he did a surround set, it was craaaaazy!!

Also, I will check out the likes of Emptyset, Deepchord presents Echospace, Traversable Wormhole, make new discoveries and partying it up at Modeselektor because these guys knows how to through a ing party. They incorporate elements of dubstep in their music but they really are form a techno background.

Week passeport for me!!

FaltyDL, Floating Point, Deepchord presents Echospace, Luke Abbott and Tranversable Wormhole for me!

Modeselektor isn't dubstep, they're more electronica/techno. There're hardware junkies and studio geniuses, don't pigeonhole them into the wah wah dubstep noise movement.. their set at Igloofest a few years ago was amazing.. probably my favorite Igloo set ever.

And yeah, Amon Tobin is just awesome.. his set at Piknic a few years ago was probably the most diverse DJ set I've ever heard.. wish I wasn't so hung over.. he played everything from house and techno to breaks, dubstep and drun-n-bass. Rediculous.

Wareika, Four Tet, James Holden, Traversable Wormhole? Forget DEMF, MUTEK will do this year.
