If you have tickets you bought from wanttickets.com, can you arrive anytime, or is there no guarenteed entrance after 11pm? Please advisee |
Used to be
| quote: | As always, there is “No Cover w/ RSVP” for “GIANT” Thursdays at SUTRA in
Newport Beach. Obviously, this has proven very popular since our launch last
month and there are nights when SUTRA reaches capacity (400 people) as early
as 10.30pm (we open at 9.30pm). Based on demand, we now introducing a
limited number of “EXPRESS IT” Online Tickets for each event.
What is an “EXPRESS IT” Online Ticket? Only available online and only in
advance for each event, “EXPRESS IT” Online Tickets guarantee immediate “no
line, no waiting” entry into “GIANT” Thursdays at SUTRA before 11pm.
Why choose “EXPRESS IT” Online Tickets if there is No Cover? If you RSVP
(via giantclub.com) to our “No Cover RSVP List” and arrive after we reach
capacity, you will still enjoy free admission when capacity becomes
available, however…
If you’ve purchased an “EXPRESS IT” Online Ticket, we’ll hold a spot for
each “EXPRESS IT” Ticket Holder until 11pm. If you arrive after 11pm and
we’ve reached capacity, we'll accommodate “EXPRESS IT” Ticket Holders first,
before guests on our “No Cover RSVP List,” when capacity becomes available.
“EXPRESS IT” Online Tickets are NOT available at the event. |
but I'm not sure anymore. |

I called Sutra earlier and they said they're selling tickets at the door for $30 dollars. If you decide to take this route, get there when doors open at 9pm to guarantee a ticket! They will go fast and tix will go up as the night progresses. GL mate |

Driving back from show-
As usual sutra was way too packed.
Ferrys set was pretty damn boring IMO...stepped it up a little towards the end but it was too late. Beginning to really not enjoy this place but so.cal and top tier djs are so limited that I really have no choice but to come here
Sutra - please move VIP behind the dj so we both get the beat of both worlds....the current setup just doesnt cut it.
And k sky playing some Dakota - Johnny the fox was nice |

It was a good set, but 2 hours isn't long enough. It wasn't much better than seeing him at a massive. Since it was his first time at Sutra, he treated it like a new city and played his hits, which didn't leave much room for new tracks.
OC crowd is too Jersey Shore-ish for my tastes. Still a fun night, though.
EDIT: KSky had a good set. Her first hour had an 80s vibe going on, and I really dug that. |

ferry's downfall is that he always plays those hits, every time, without fail.
fire was nice though |

Ferrys set started off pretty good but slowed down big time towards the middle and got boring indeed :/ I was hoping he would play harder and get my body moving but it didn't happen. We left after Beautiful so I prob missed brain box and the punk remix. It also was way too crowded snd a bit stuffy. I didn't have much fun at all. Not going here again for any big name djs.
To top it off, I had a lameass bartender who wouldn't correct my order. I ordered 3 vodka pineapples and she got me 3 red bull vodkas. I told her I didn't order this and she sarcastically smiled at me and said yes u did order this. I never had any bartender do this to me before in all my years of partying... What an a-hole |

I went last night because my 2 friends who are newbs to trance LOVE Ferry, especially from listening to Corsten's Countdown.
Ferry’s beginning set I didn’t care much for but toward the end it got better and I was enjoying it. Funny my newb friends hated the end of his set but enjoyed the beginning. They were like “when is he gonna play songs with words? It’s too hard, we don’t like it!”
Fortunately I know one of the bouncers that works the VIP entrance so we can go up and away from the main dancefloor but even last night was just ridiculously packed in VIP too.
If a super big dj comes to Sutra, I’d rather just skip it. For the price, I’d rather just go to LA or Vegas (ahem Marquee!). More room, better view of the dj booth, better sound quality and less party fouls. People need to control their , so many sloppy ass people last night. Sutra in itself brings trash..but trash on a packed edm night.. hell to the no.
I ran into some people from High School and I asked them “I didn’t know you guys were Ferry fans!” They were like “what’s a fairy fan?”
 |

Actually for me it was that blonde barwoman that poured my drink from the wrong bottle. I had to point the bottle out to her to get her to correct it. But she did. I also had a second incident with a barman that charged me for 2 bottles of water when I asked for a second bottle after I just got and paid (and even tipped) for the first one.
As for the price, nothing beats the early bird $10 tickets! |
