Don't get your hopes up too high.. Santos usually closes around 4ish. lol. Hopefully it is a little longer but he usuaully only plays about 1.5 hours as he plays live.

Ahhh finally got the answer to what time this spot closes. What does that actually mean that he plays "live" I saw him refer to this in his interview but also didnt truly understand how it differs from other djs.

ya know, lol, i was considering bc normally he wouldn't spin any longer than 2 hr live set...but last time i went to santos i could've sworn it went beyond 4 or 5 (dont quote me on that). oh wells, thanks for bursting the bubble :P
broadly, "live" is when a dj basically plays whatever he wants as he goes along, in other words the set isn't planned. he'll manage the tracklist depending on the crowds mood or whatever, rmx a track, mash it up, cue in/out, or whatever else the dj has up his/her sleeve...

How about a meetup around 130 when Antonio gets on, someone suggest a spot. For now lets say front of dj Booth right side. Its not anything official so do it or not, its all good.

I think it's playing tracks and doing live remixing/editing on stage. He did it with Calderone last summer and really enjoyed his set!

We could meet by the right side of the dj booth that has the bar (across from where they have the couches / seats)

Finally recovered from the night and back home ;-)
I got to Santos around 1am and missed The Junkies' set after some serious pre-gaming. Antonio Piacquadio played a decent set and had me moving as soon as I got to the club. I got to meet Paul Ritch before his set and told him to play a nice hard banging set and he did just that. He got on around 2:45 and totally destroyed the place. Great tracks, transitions, and the he really kept the energy up there. I couldn't stop moving during his entire set. I saw him open for Calderone last year but he totally outdid with his headlining set. I hope he returns to NYC very very soon. He is definitely the man to see if you want to hear some proper techno. I took many videos/pictures and will put them up soon.
AY STAR, it was nice partying with you as usual. I hope you can make out for Victor Calderone on 5/21 (my birthday weekend ;)). It was nice seeing Shelly and Bobby again. Shelly, don't forget to send me that party info that you were talking about. Bobby, nice moustache! It was also nice to meet you Taurus (forgot your name, was too drunk sorry lol) We better see you at more shows this summer!

got to the line around 1ish only to be gettin rained on for a good 5 min while standing outside, but it was well worth it
it was my first time at santos and i really really liked the club, it reminds me of shelter (before it became green house)
just a nice dark underground spot made to listen to music

i only caught a lil bit of the junkies and i wanted to hear more of them since i only saw a lil bit from them in toronto, they played a pretty decent set...next up was the guy antonio p. ok so iam lookin at him and iam asking myself "where the do i know this guy from?"...turns out i remember him djing at sound factory back in the day lol it was really a-luv, i remember when he used to throw down trance and house but his set last night was pretty good
paul ritch came on and absolutely murdered the outta that room. hard driving relentless techno, probly one of my fav sets of the year so far i was loving it...guy is a beast just working the outta tracks on the fly. at one point he was looping the breathing sound from jason over a build-up then BAM mofo unleashed...def alot harder then last time when he was here, i will def continue on supporting him when he's in town thats for sure
good seeing everyone, shelley,bobby,xpander and meeting up with taurus ha ha funny part was we were over by the bar at like 1:30 lookin for you and xpander was lookin at people and was like "do you think thats taurus? what about that guy?" and i just shout out "yo who here is from trance addict step foward" :haha: but yea glad you made it

What a great night. I definitely love Santos - that spot is my kind club like Ay Star said it simple and strictly for the music- no frills just perfect. I got there towards the end of the Junkies set from what i heard it was just ok little slower then my taste. I thought that Antonio P really did a good job and killed it- I think he set a precedence early in the night for some hard hitting sounds and the crowd was really pumped up and moving from his set.
Paul Ritch is and was a beast. I have to admit from some of the sets I heard prior to the night I was a little concerned that he wouldnt be as hard as I like it- but he blew me away with hard beats and truly talented skills playing "live" and just taking you on a hard hitting journey. The crowd was great and you can tell he was feeding off of it and giving the NY crowd what they were needing. I am sold on this guy he is a true talent.
It was great to meet my fellow TA'ers finally. A real cool bunch- I didnt realize how cool it is to go out and be able to bounce around from people to people and enjoy the music with people you know. Im definitely looking forward to partying with these people again. Nice meeting you Ay Star- I was wondering what kinda pint you were drinking- damn if I knew it was Stella I wouldve been drinking the same thing, Xpander it was cool meeting you I remember you saying bye at one point and then about an hour later I still see you in there lol - couldnt leave those beats alone, trust me I know the feeling. She-Fitz and Bobby- your both very cool peeps and luckily I remembered a pic of she-fitz so that made it all possible. Bobby is a cool dude - really enjoyed appreciating all those beats together on the dance floor. Looking forward to the next time peeps, and believe me their will be a next time.
Im still banged up from that night lol- dont got it like I used too lol left it all on the dance floor- the way it should be.I agree with Ay Star that is the best set Ive heard live so far this year- great night and new friends cant ask for anything more.
