i agree with all of this

crowd, crowd, and crowd. it's 90% guidos and 90% guys at that. I can deal with both of these, a sprinkling of guidos or too many guys but pacha pushes beyond the extreme on both. And there are way way too many shirtless guys. Has anything changed in the last 6 months? It really does kill me seeing all these DJs pass through ny and having to skip them
also I have never done VIP there but am considering it for gareth, do you still have a view of the DJ booth? how sectioned off is it from the rest of the crowd? |

crowd, crowd, and crowd. | +1. I haven't been back since Cosmic Gate. and for those of us who can't do VIP, whether because of age or finances, Pacha's just...not worth it. |

k that's why I asked, I figured that it was more the crowd that you weren't into rather than the venue itself. I've spent many nights at Pacha and I've noticed that the crowds are completely different on some nights as opposed to others. Fridays for instance usually have a different crowd from Saturdays. Certain DJ's / theme's also bring in a different type of following, ie: DJ Pauly D night vs. an Armin night. Promoters / Promotions often have a strong influence on what type of crowd will be at the venue as well (Made Event vs. Jonathan Peters S&M party).
The VIP is definitely worth it. You have a clear view of the DJ Booth (you are elevated right behind it) as well as a clear view of the crowd and the club. The VIP wraps around the club so you can walk around the dance floor which is great. I sent you a pm :)

vip is so worth it i cant stress that enough!
to anyone who hates the crowd but wants to see a certain show and hasnt tried the vip... PLEASE DO!
i know were not all rich here but there are usually SO many options (especially being here on TA just reach out to us!!)
sometimes the VIP even gets crowded but its still a good time. And generally...if its a good trance show- you can bet youll be surrounded by....US! itll just be all TA-ers anyway so its even MORE fun.
And the more you do VIP the more they love you and throw you fantastic deals...im not going to lie they had a good year or so where everyone wanted them dead but they are back and treating everyone well and they recognize whos who ... i have no complaints and im cheap as . |

If you had a bad experience with any of the Pacha staff, there is a good chance that others have had a bad experience with that "same person" and they are no longer working for the venue. You can always find a bad apple in a bunch. As a DJ who has played many opening gigs at the venue, I have witnessed the staff meetings which are held every night right before the club opens. Their is a very strong emphasis on customer service. Maybe it's because I have worked with Pacha for so long, but I'm continuously impressed with how well the staff has treated me (even by those who may not know me or didn't know who I was at the time). |

Pacha staff has always been nice to me, and I've been more than a handful of times.
I hate the crowd Pacha draws compared to other clubs that put on Trance events, but I just dance and try not to pay attention. Though I have almost strangled a few guidos with their own whistle strings before (I can't ing stand people who blow whistles at clubs). |

i had two people i didnt care for...i know one was let go i received a phone call specifically letting me know that they listened to my complaints and wanted me to feel comfortable there again....
there is, however, one person who still exists and i know a LOT of people do not like this person. this person is rude and can get too touchy....and one day they are SO nice then the next you are told to go to hell (quite literally)
this person is still there.
to the people who know, or think they know who i am talking about : no i will not name names- bc in the end this is their job and its not my place to get anyone fired from naming people on forums (i have addressed my concerns verbally with the manager as i have seen fit). i either deal with it or dont go....safe fact for me.
HOWEVER, if you ever have issues with anyone...and this goes for anywhere not just pacha....SAY SOMETHING
if everyone keeps theirs mouths shut while being treated badly all you are doing is accepting it and allowing it and permitting it to continue.
So speak to pacha, to the managers, whatever. But do so maturely please- or you have no ground to stand on |

Braving Pacha to see Gareth. Saw Ferry in the fall '10 there, Sound was good, A/C was kicking, and Ferry played a great set that night.
DJ's like this should be at D36, better venue+crowd, better staff, better e'thing. come on promoters!
It's just the stigma of the place (old SF) ect. It's a dinosaur of a club, when there are better venues in the city that should be played by great talent. |
