i know numark has produced some ty (i mean VERY ty)equipment in the past. ttx-1, tt-200 (that were produced in another factory) are exceptions to that rule though.

numark mixers are pretty bad too (most of them). but what about their cd-decks ? is the Axis series another exception to that rule?

anyone ever used them or own them? what about them? any comments on their quality???

i'm really into saving money. those seemed like a good deal. but are they any good? i wouldn't like to spend my precious money on them and prove myself to be an idiot buying them.

this is off subject but what about the stanton cd players?

I want to get some cheap cd players and I'm considering stantons but I really don't know about them

well, i know nothing on cd-decks. all i know is i'm looking for single cd-decks with jog-dial.

unless you guys suggest me pionner cdj-100 or cdj-1000, every suggestion would be helpful. thnx

I'd say get the cdj 100s ...they are awesome !

you obviously can't afford the 1000s so forget about these

Stanton CD lasers are quite ok standard. The S-700's laser is definately quality. I have tried my mate's out and its seamless loops are just that and instant start is similar to Pioneers'...! He has had them for over 10 months now, so i guess they are good dual cd players but buy the Next NCD-7000 which is exaclty the same and is produced by Stanton and is also cheaper.

Back to the initial question..
the Axis 8 is a good cd player.. effects, master tempo, bpm, etc.
I tested it at my local DJ store and the instant start is just a fraction slower than Pioneers'. But it won't trouble you that much.
It is a quality product and even for <$400 it is damn good value. The scratching effect is amazing too.. but not as good the cdj-100's.. just had to put that in.. :D

So if i had the $$$ to purchase any cd players under $400, the Axis 8 is definately the pick. It does (:)) out perform the classed CDJ-100's....
