Back in the day I used to love Cerwin Vegas, but ended up with Polk Audios when it was time to get a set. This is one of two and my wife is dying for me to get rid of them. At 1000 watts each, I just don't have the heart. When I can get a chance to crank them, there's no way they'll ever go !!! They each weigh 180lbs and are 5 feet tall.

From it's manual... "Recommended Amplifier Power 1000 w/channel"
Right now I'm using some Sony amp that's prob a few hundred watts (I forget it's specs). Even at that it's outta control, enough to make the wife complain for sure. Years ago my brother attached a Mackintosh amp (a few thousand dollars one) and attempted to go the distance. The amp fried with this small mushroom cloud... LOL.

15" subwoofer
At the time they were close to $6,000 (prob near 10,000 at today's rates). Back then my bro owed me money, so bought them from him at a greatly reduced price. |
