Every artist has a different muse: the psychotropic effects of a mushroom, a lover's embrace, or the exhilaration of danger. Dawnchaser (sometimes The Shaman) finds his muse on the open road, the unexplored trail, and the high mountain.
From his youngest years, Dave, aka Dawnchaser, has constantly been drawn to the wilderness, where cell phones can't reach, and civilization is a distant memory. His earliest memories are of being on trips with the family through the sweeping Grand Tetons of Wyoming, the lonely shores of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, and the snowy forests of Sweden. And still, he feels the call of the wilderness, beckoning him away from the cities, to where the air is clean, and he can pit himself against the forces of nature.
And now, his music can give you a taste of what that feels like.
Since 2005, he's been making trance in various forms; from his early experiments with "Heroic" trance with Ocean Drive Records, to Cascade-style Trance with Multitude Music now. This new sound mingles deep, organic psytrance-influenced basslines with aggressive techy analog textures, and dramatic, anthemic melodies.
He makes music for the open road, for mountain trails, and for that spirit of adventure that resides in us all.
His music has been played live and on radio shows everywhere from the US, to Germany, to Morocco, to Egypt, and beyond, proving that his music, like his wanderlust, knows no boundaries, no distance, and will span the globe.
In under three years he's put out over ten EPs, an album, and more releases are forthcoming. He's pulling out all the stops as he embarks on the next Path of his journey.
Like the Nature he's inspired by, Dawnchaser's live act is an unpredictable force of sound. Just when you think you have him pegged into one neat little genre, he goes and undermines everything you believed. Dawnchaser's live sets can begin chilled out and mellow, and quickly evolve into a massive, blistering storm. While his sets are always melodic and epic, he's equally comfortable playing and producing breaks, house, drum n' bass, techno, psychedelic, and even hardcore. There is no telling where he'll go. All you can do is be ready for the adventure...
