I apologize for this complete noob question as I have exhausted resources and attempts in trying to find a cure.
I am hoping one of you pro's out there may be able to help

Bought a Alesis q 49 midi controller and everything seems to check out ok with the device installing on a windows 7 pc.
Checked under Device manager and it shows the usb is installed.

When I enter in Ableton, I went to prefs and it shows that it is registering, however under control surface there is no listing for alesis or q 49

However, no sounds are coming from the keyboard and no signal is registering on ableton?
Im totally new to this and learning and I am totally stuck....any help GREATLY appreciated!!!

Find the correct drivers, from the pictures is seems it's not recognised as a midi controller.

What you could do is go to the device specs in Windows and let it look for the updated driver, or download and assign the new drivers yourself.

Hi guys, sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have this exact same problem. My new Alesis Q49 is listed as "unspecified" and Ableton won't recognize it.

I tried auto-updating the Q49 driver but it didn't find anything, and there's no new drivers listed for the Q40 on the Alesis website.

Could you tell me how you got it to work scorpradio? I'd really appreciate it!!
