Audio Equip Recommendation for Medium-Sized Art Space

Hello, my friends and I are putting together an event and we need to get audio equipment for the show. It's going to be an art show followed by a couple bands and DJs.
We'll most likely be renting equipment or borrowing from people. I need recommendations for amplifiers and PA speakers for this. It'll be a medium-sized art space (I'm guessing warehouse-ish).
We'll probably need 2 PA speakers, and one or two monitors (something that could possibly work for guitar/vocals as well as dance music) for the DJs and band members. I'm trying to think if it would be better to have the monitor(s) on a stand or on the floor as in a traditional band setting).
Other than that, we need an amplifier to route the DJ Mixer to, as well as the band setup.
I'd like to strike a good balance between cost and sound quality. This is a charity event and non-profit so we're on a bit of a budget.
Thanks for any help! |

Cool thanks! The band will have microphones as well as laptop/synth setup and guitars. Do you think we should get a separate small mixing board for them to route everything into, then route that mixer into the speakers? We could swap out the DJ mixer with the bands', I'm guessing. |

| find out what the needs of the bands are and go from there, but yea you're probably going to need a PA mixer and i'm assuming at least 2 monitors (depending on the band needs), if you're going to be switching back and forth i'd just run the dj mixer into the PA and run the speakers from there, then there's no hassling with cords during the show |
