I'd call it big beat / break beat.
The drums have quite an orthodox organic late 90's flavour.

I liked the skillfull background sounds but to be honest the drums let it down as they are like a baisc 1997 breakbeat loop. If you can make them much more your own and have more of a cool edgy groove, this will help no end, for me anyways.

Cheers - stop being so worried about genre by the way.

To be honest, I expected to hear complete crap when I clicked on this thread. I would also classify this as big beat. IE. chemical brothers or overseer

You have a nice tight drum and some very nice floaty atmospheric things floating on top. I find the music pretty enjoyable to listen to and it's quite well mixed, although a few things could be tighter here and there.

The only thing I'd work on is really to vary those drums and have a lot more fills. Throw in more different drum sounds like toms for fills, ride cymbals to add an extra layer, and make the hats more different. These are things that are not immediately noticed, but the variations make the music interesting to move to instead of having monotonous drums that don't evolve.
