Does anyone know what the typical fees are on a per track basis, regarding a commercial CD mix compilation, or 'mix CD'.
Tracks would be almost solely sourced from underground Trance labels, ie. Not the majors. |

| on big trance labels (armada), if its the same labels compilation: 14% divided by the number of tracks so maybe like 1% if you are lucky. if the compilation is on another label usually 50% of the income is sent out to the 3rd parties, leaving you with 14% of 50% divided by the number of tracks on the compillation. in other words nothing. usually mix cds is double discs too so if you only have one track you might get 0,25%. yey awesome business. on underground labels its usually 50% divided by the number of tracks if its on the same label, or half of that again if its by another label. nothing!! sometimes on underground labels all 3rd party income goes to you leaving you at max 50% divided by the number of tracks. thats if you are really lucky. |
