Bahaha, win. I'm still confused though, have you used this before I was on the forums? I don't understand how if so, b/c I have this font and made my own gradient for the fill?
Anyways, I had never heard of Wave Alchemy before this thread. Holy. . I'm surprised you guys even recommend this, I would keep it all for myself! F'in bomb!
edit: oh you totally stole it from me the image has the same name. lol.

wave alchemy drum tools 1 has about 30 SUB only kicks |

no is the simple answer, when it comes to melodies, especially whe it comes to sampling, as you're just copying the audio, both in terms of the recording, and the melody.
drums, basslines (most, not all) and perc sounds are not subject to copyright so you can lift them and use them. |
Just to clarify the point on drums/basslines/perc sounds - the rhythms/patterns they play and the style of sound which plays them can't be copyrighted. But the actual recorded audio is definitely copyright.
So "lift and use them" means "create something using your own samples/ synths in the same style as this track" rather than "copy the actual audio and use it".
Just in case anybody took it to mean it's okay to copy the actual audio from another song! |

I don't know how far processed samples you're after, but here's a great (free, don't mind the torrent site) pack I've used for some time:
Drum samples
It's basically most of the drum hits in some of the more vintage(?) synthesizers(?) and drum machines. |

thanks for all the replies and help guys,, looks like the drum tools 01 is the way to go, i will also check out their free sample packs.
While on the subject of samples (and loops I guess), can anyone recommend a good loop library consisting of shaker loops, hi hats loops, perc, loops, etc. Basically im after just the top end of the kit (without claps or snares). I have no problem in programming but sometimes its good to discover and use something that you wouldn't normally do or think of doing, preferably wav files or rex files.
cheers, |
