Since his debut on the Rick Mercer Report, Donnie Dumphy has become a social media phenomenon. His featured video "Havin’ a Time" has accumulated close to a million views. The video has been played nationally on Rick Mercer top rated CBC show and Donnie has been featured on the Ron and Fez's Comedy show on Sirius XM Radio.
The character Donnie Dumphy was launched with the video "Havin’ A Time" - a tribute to Newfoundland slang. The success of the video has led to a full length album and a multitude of videos, quickly establishing Donnie as an ambassador for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Donnie, MC extraordinaire, raps about wolves, bologna, cold beer, and ‘doin’ wheelies’ on his Honda 50.

Donnie and his girlfriend Brenda hosted the 2009 Grand Falls Newfoundland Salmon Festival, featuring headliner Akon and some 20,000 people in attendance. Dumphy also wowed audiences at the 2010 Evolve Festival (Voted Best Music Festival in Canada by CBC Radio 3 listeners). |
