halcyon is proud to present this very special night pairing two of our favorite deep Tech-House talents, Brooklyn's Adultnapper and Germany's Pawel. The relationship between these two top tier producers and overall kindred spirits began a few years ago with the release of Pawel's Lines and Curves EP on Adultnapper's own Ransom Note label. Scheduling conflicts made a release party impossible to book at the time, but ever since these two have been hankering to co-headline an event together. We couldn't be more excited to finally bring this bill to fruition here in New York, at Cielo, home of the city's best sound system. On this night Adultnapper will be doing what he does best - crafting an emotionally moving DJ journey that stretches over 5 hours, starting when the doors open at 10pm and going until close. For his part, Pawel will be delivering one of his famed live sets, fueled with material from his stellar full length album debut, and complete, as always with his own angelic vocals. You won't want to miss a single beat of this exclusive event so entrance is FREE before midnight and just $15 with RSVP. See you on the dancefloor.
Adultnapper (scissor and thread | NYC)
Equally accomplished as a DJ, producer and composer, Francis Harris has emerged as one of North America's premiere underground electronic music talents. His discography counts over 40 EPs and remixes for respected labels like Poker Flat, Mule, Simple, Nummer, Clink and his own boutique imprint Ransom Note. Dark yet moving, his introspective solo excursions as Adultnapper continually challenge convention, earning him a loyal following amongst elite tastemakers in the global dance music underground. When teamed with Mr. C of The Shamen as Sycophant Slags, the mischievous streak behind the foreboding Adultnapper persona is revealed. The duo have released a string of punchy dance anthems, including the Poker Flat hit single and video Keep Off and a forthcoming EP for Get Physical. A spate of studio collaborations in 2010 yielded already released Adultnapper EPs featuring vocalist Big Bully for Culprit and Simple, a forthcoming project co-produced with M.A.N.D.Y. and No Cliché, a single recorded with Beirut band member Jason Poranski (vocals) and No Regular Play's Greg Paulus (trumpet). The most ambitious and highly anticipated of these projects is without question the full length debut by Adultnapper. Titled Leland, in tribute to his father, the album is an emotion-laden requiem featuring piano, guitar, cello, trumpet and vocals. It is to be released this Fall on a new indie-oriented label called Scissor and Thread.
Beyond dance music, Mr. Harris scores soundtracks for noted installation artist Matthew Weinstein. His composition for Chariots of the Gods, featuring the last recording of the late Natasha Richardson, debuted to great reviews at NYC's Sonnabend Gallery in Sept. '09. His second Weinstein commission, The Birth of Berthold Brecht, this time with actress Blair Brown on vocal, is set to debut this Fall.

Born in Poland in 1978, Pawel Kominek grew up in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. In 1997, he released his debut 12” single Biocenter on Poets Club Records ran by Jan Peter Schwalm, a long-time producing partner of Brian Eno. A year later, the first 12”s under the name Turner were released on the label Ladomat Records in Hamburg and were an instant success among the electronic music scene worldwide.
In 2001, he started the new label dial-rec. with his friends Peter “Lawrence” Kersten and David “Carsten Jost” Lieske. Several productions for film-soundtracks and remixes for various artists such as Ellen Allien, Miss Kitten, Depeche Mode, A-ha etc. completed his output in the past years. As an addition to Dial Rec., in 2007 Paul started his own label Orphanear. After two praised 12" on NY based Ransom Note and on Dial Records, 2010 finally saw the release of Pawel´s self-titled debut album!
Pawel´s live performances are famous for combining the energetic minimal House & Techno backings with his fabulous vocal skills, known from his Turner releases.

Def check Adultnapper out, man is BA.NA.NAS. Heard him play so many times late night (3-5 am) at Stay on weeknights and it's always been sheer madness.
If I don't go to DC for Maya Jane Coles, I'll be @ cielo in my most comfortable dancing shoes :)

I actually sprained my knee AND my ankle! :nervous: Crutches for two weeks... If you've been in crutches before you know how difficult it is to get around in those in this city, so I just stayed in bed for the most part.
It's all better :D still hurts a bit when it's really cold though.
