Tiger Tiger Tiger Woods Y'all (pg. 3)

I was taking issue with the statement that he's 'one of the few' who has a rigorous training program. In 1999, yeah, but there are tons of young guys who train about as hard as he does now. The days of Craig Sadler and Mark Calcavecchia are over.

Yeah most of the younger guys are on par with Tiger's workout routine, but the argument could be made that he truly pioneered the heavy training. Until about the late 90's pro golfers just practiced golf, they didn't really do serious weight training programs.

He absolutely did. They ran, but the kind of stuff I did growing up (actual lifting, PLYOMETRICS. PLYOMETRICS. UNTIL YOU DROP. DEAD., yoga, etc.) was absolutely the result of Tiger's success. The high school/training academy I went to didn't even have a golf program until about 10 years ago...right when Tiger was dominating the world. Not a coincidence. Everybody my age grew up during that transition, though, and those are all the guys coming up now.

Russell said Tiger was one of the only ones, which is nonsense.

I think Tiger Woods ed a lot of people's mothers on here.

Tiger changing his swing after his knee surgery is just all the more reason for him not winning anything in the past couple years. One doesn't change their swing and master it right off the bat. The fact that he had major knee surgery, his personal life was ultimately destroyed, his wife left him, and he completely had to change his swing, and he can still be right in the hunt at the Masters on Sunday with all the boy wonders you speak of just shows that this is just a lull in an otherwise unrivaled career.

As for his workout routine, somebody please show me another golfer who looks like that (not just thin, but looking more like a football player than a golfer). The knee thing might not even be a permanent handicap for him. I had Tommy John surgery my senior year of high school, and if anything, it makes your elbow stronger/less likely to be injured again. Obviously it's not the same as a knee surgery, but you can also strengthen specific muscles around a certain joint that help to stabilize it and take less pressure/torque off of ligaments. That was actually an alternative option to my having surgery at all, but for me the surgery was worth not risking completely tearing my UCL.

All things aside, he's still the best golfer in the world, just like he has been his entire career. I don't think anybody was questioning Jack Nicklaus when he didn't win any majors for 3 years, and he didn't have his whole life implode around him during that time. Like I said before, Tiger is to golf what Armstrong was to cycling. When he's really on his game, there's just nobody better. Golf is as much a mental game as it is a physical one, and everybody is seeming to forget that the with his wife was less than 2 years ago. I don't think he's really "back to normal" mentally at this point, but it's plainly obvious that he's been progressing more and more ever since he came back to golf.

lol. I was too busy looking for others. A lot have good arms but not great elsewhere, but CV pretty much takes the piss. I'm sure I heard him say in an interview that he wore 29" trousers
