Info on how much a promo banner at Beatport boosts record sales

I thought you guys might find this interesting. It is a look behind the scenes of a Beatport release - looking at the impact of having banner and chart support...
It isnt often people get a look at the stats - and only 15 tracks a week get banner support. Hope it helps in some way :)

One could say it's equally fascinating that so far, no one seems to mention in their replies that .wav files have been available for years on Beatport. (the same ones that are basically a copy of the master) and one could wonder why they choose to focus on the MP3 format when lossless alternatives are clearly available there. (except for the Cadenza snobs that only want to make their stuff available in .m4a so that they can sell 12 more copies of their vinyl releases, as if it was going to somehow make a gigantic difference. And they never make the .wav file available at all even long after the release)
Interesting indeed.... as for banner features, why would someone shun such great front-page exposure? |

Besides, most people that dont buy mp3 do so because they want a physical product and not something without any worth. |
