| quote: | | You heard right -- Canada is scheduled to introduce a polymer-based $100 bill in November, and in March of 2012, a recyclable $50 bill will follow. From there, smaller notes will be phased in over the next dozen months or so, providing citizens with legal tender that holds up better to Yellowknife's winters. Sure, Australia has been doing something similar for over a decade, but have you ever seen a DinoPark Tycoon rise up and use only non-digestible money? Exactly. |
I've seen the Aussie cash and it's pretty neat. It even has a little window that you can see through... |

Yeah, we've had them for a long time here in Oz. I think there are a few other countries with them as well. It's pretty cool.
Edit: 8 countries that use them: Australia, Bermuda, Brunei, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Romania, and Vietnam. |

dude, I completely forgot about Bermuda. I spent 5 months working there and I think I may have some of their cash here...
I'll have to try and find it...
Is the money in Oz different sizes for different denominations??
I found that so annoying about Bermudian cash... |

Interesting...
I went looking for plastic Bermudian money and I found a $2 bill. Paper money though...
However, I did find a 20 peso Mexican note and IT is plastic...
So you can add Mexico to that list... |

Yeah, they're slightly different in size. $5 note is smaller than a $10 note, etc. There's probably only a centimeter or two difference between the smallest and biggest notes. You'll get used to it :p
Yeah sorry, I meant that those 8 countries fully use polymer bank notes. |

I doubt that they'd have the different size notes here...
I hope not anyway... |
