Yah I don't get why it's getting so much attention. First one was just meh to begin with. I guess the console kids getting a PC game is what's causing it.

Noooooooooooo, you'll ruin the experience and what understand the vast majority of the second one without playing the first one. Just play Portal 1, it's brilliant and only takes about 3-4 hours.

Agreed. There's a really great story behind it (and lots of other bits of the story found outside of the games)

Maybe because everything valve puts out is ridiculously over hyped, but the last time i was excited about anything they put out was HL: Opposing Force.

if I recall, if you purchase portal 2 from steam, you get a copy of the original portal for free.
seeing as how I'm backed up with exams and such, think I'm going to wait this out. I'm sure by the time the holidays comes around, it'll pop up on sale for like $10 or something ridiculous.
