cant sleep so i'll be the first to post on this.

in a word: AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

so i got in about 12am just as Sven went on. Noticed it was much busier than i expected but not overly crowded, plenty of room for everyone to dance. Sound system was in perfect, plenty of bass. Much older and mature crowd too, lots of real house heads (guys and girls). I met people from Spain, Tunisia, Guatemala, London , New York, most of them coming for coachella but stayed to see Sven again.

For the first 2 hours , Sven kinda went up n down like a rollercoaster, playing a bangin track then goin a bit mellow. Either way EVERYONE was diggin' it. The vibe was off the hook. Only one time during the set did one of the vinyls skip, lol.

At about 2am, Sven took it up a notch and never slowed down. He ended up playing til almost 4:15am. There was at least 100 still left when he let his last record play.

A couple track id's:
Joris Voorn - The Secret
Ramadanman - Void 23
Christian Burkhard - Stopover Goa

I gotta say this was probably the most fun i'ver ever had at a party in Hollywood. Definitely felt like a proper Cocoon party.

Now if only they do a party like this with Luciano or Loco Dice!!!!

Legendary party it was!

I have ZERO complaints about last night. From the moment I walked through the main door, til the moment I left, everything was just perfect. LOVED the venue! Sound was awesome, visuals were pretty good, crowd was ACE! And most importantly, I was so happy to see so many friends and many old skool TA's.

We got there just before 11:30pm. There was a line to get in, but I had presale, so there was no line for me. I walked up to the bouncer, gave him my ID, got my tickets and he walked us in. Everyone working an the front of the club was very courteous, very friendly, very welcoming. That's rare in LA, so they get a 10 from me on that.

We went straight to the front of the dancefloor and saw Sven just barely taking over. He went on right at 11:30pm. The man did not disappoint at all. His music was spot on. Loved the roller coaster ride, he knew when to take it up a notch, and when to bring it down. The man is a genius. I swear, if you were to put Sven Vath and Digweed on the same night, on the same bill, it would top off the 2002 Sasha & Digweed back to back set at The Mayan! And that is one of my all time favorite parties.

BTW, I did not see any washing machines at all!!!! That was awesome! Loved the crowd, very mature, a bit older too. I felt right at home! hahaha

Here's my videos. ID as many as you can.

My only negatives:

1. During the last hour his mixing became sloppy at times. You could tell he was exhausted, though, and he recovered nicely each time.

2. In the latter part of his set, he seemed to pretty much ignore the dance floor and kept turning around and interacting with the trainspotters behind the booth. I guess the vibe was better up there? I dunno, I didn't try to go up there cause I assumed it was VIP only or something.

3. The guy who kept going into the booth and getting on mic annoyed the everloving crap out of me.

As a whole, though, it was AWESOME. I was so happy Sven went on at 11:30 and staying until ~4:15. I couldn't leave, I had to stay the whole time. Great stuff.

I really liked the direction his set took after 2am. I'm not the best at identifying genres, but he went into some dark, proggy stuff that was absolutely excellent (it was probably technically minimal, but it had some great dreamlike qualities to it).

Sven was Morillo style WASTED towards the end. So I can only image lol

Wish I could have gone, guess I'll have to settle for seeing him in Ibiza in August!

Twas pretty good. 30 years of DJ-ing by SVEN VATH lead to a night that was pretty amazing.

took a look at the videos DJ Woody posted and it's just way too minimal for me...it would put me to sleep but i guess everybody has their own preference.
