You might be physically from the North East, but your ideologically formative years were in Florida.
This is a stupid convo though, its pointless, in 20 years what Cuba today is will only be a grand dream to most of the US. There is nothing we can do to stop it either. We have already reached the overflow point and there is no turning off the spigot. China is sitting down at the table to eat our lunch and Northern Europe is going to decouple and that will be that. The great experiment will end in a failure, in a sad whimper. |

My ideologically formative years had everything to do with the people around me, not the ing state I lived in.
I'm not as pessimistic as you... but if it does end, it will not be a result of the country adhering to the founding principals. James Madison is rolling over in his grave right now, watching an increasingly cancerous tumor of a centralized government sucking the life blood of its host dry. We're devolving into a command and control collectivist economy run by politicians who are addicted to spending, not a free society with a free market where the individual is recognized. That's why we may be ed.
Not that this matters to you- you support the very things that will destroy us because you're one of the takers, not the makers. We sit here and yell back and forth but when I shut off the computer, I go to work and contribute to society. And you don't. I actually feel sorry for you and people like you- the armchair quarterbacks of the productive world who sit back and judge and scream and steep in their own self loathing, waiting for a chance to troll to feel better about themselves. You're so busy hating on successful people that your chances to make something of yourself are shrinking by the day, and you don't even realize it. You'll come back with some half-witted remark, trying to blow it off and/or sound clever... but we both know you're going to go to sleep and think about what an utter sad failure of a human being you are. So sad man. I rarely pity people, but you're one of them for sure. |

Bahahha :stongue:
What kind of economy is China Kevin?
The reason the US is going to fail is not an issue of control, its an issue of society, and you are part of the bad part. What is this society made of? It is made of the very strong willed and the weak and persecuted who left Europe. Right now the that mixture is finally coming to a head. The strong are eating the weak and they do not understand that they sit on the back of the weak.
How do the rich get rich in this country? The weak consume their products. How will they have any consumers when they bankrupt this society? |

The kind with no workers rights, who can force people to work for 16 hours and $2 a day. Slavery gets done. Let's not forget they have about 1 billion more people than the United States... yet our economy even in bad times last years was about $14 trillion to their $5.5 trillion. One of the main reasons they are growing is because they are moving FROM communism to capitalism, not the other way around dip. |

The people I employ who can feed their families as a result would probably disagree with you on that.

Wow- so simple. Hey I think there's an opening for an Economics professor at Harvard right now... maybe check into that? Dude... you know that you have zero experience in actual real world business, and you have no formal education or training on anything related to economics. Why must you think you can lecture others?
Just so you know- consumers don't have to buy the products businesses put out. Consumers control the market, not the other way around. Who's bankrupting society... the CEO who makes $6 million or the current administration that just put out a $4 trillion budget with a $1.6 trillion deficit? |

To his defence...we are talking about florida here.

yeah... teachers are real decent these days. they'll shut down the capital of Wisconsin for weeks and get arrested for making death threats to lawmakers for being asked to pay a mere 12% of their own retirement and health benefits, which is still less than the private sector, while making twice as much as the average.
|
Im going to correct you a little there. The unions agreed to paying more. They agreed on all of the financial issues actually. The thing that upset them enough to do a raid on state capitals was the removal of collective bargaining rights.
Also, twice as much as the average? Are you pulling a John Kyl here?

You honestly think we are moving to communism?
Are you that ing paranoid?
Jesus ing christ... I bet in your mind Eisenhower was a commie.
When did this economic down turn start? Under Bush. Even if he had nothing to do with it (which I am not saying) how can you blame the problem on Obama, especially when its TECHNICALLY not gotten worse under him, and in many regards gotten better.
You are a ing serious wack job. Honestly baiting you like this is probably dangerous knowing how prone you people are to violence (do they have Safeways in North Carolina?)
China will eat our lunch communism or capitalist, which they won't be either of, they will be a authoritarian socialist state with some free market values, the ones that benefit the state. They are pretty much already that. They do not need to move to a totally free market system, its not good for anyone. It means they lose control, if they stay too hardline they you get protests.
They will embody what that student in Qatar said about not needing democracy when everything is provided for you.
As for your argument about population, thats ing stupid as well. China has one billion people so they must be able to do things better, yet countries like Norway and Sweden and Denmark have populations combined barely even amounting to 1% of the population of China and they are better off than us, and will be in the future as well.
China already has a larger "middle class" than the entire population of the US and there is no sign in that middle class growing. Sweden and Norway and Denmark already have an incredibly high standard of living with a small population.
So what is the US doing wrong? We have a society that is not interested in the greater good, nor does it have respect for its country, nor does it recognize that government is meant for the people, to better their lives.
Its idiots like you that can not understand such simple ing concepts. Concepts that drive many countries now and are paving the way for other countries to, paraphrasing Reagen, relegate us to the dustbin of history |

...
Consumers don't have to buy products...
Yet businesses will work still...
Explain yourself there.
Explain how our country, with its now minimal manufacturing base, in a world that is rapidly gaining hi-technology and the ability to compete in the service sector, and filled with businesses that would rather off shore their manufacturing and even now service sectors to the previous mentioned world's upstart countries could have a consumer base that is able to sustain businesses that do not even have a presence in the US. |

He is a ing moron. A simple google search would show that teachers in public schools make on average $10,000 less than the average income of the rest of the US.
In fact this, high school drop out was making only about 3k less per year than the teachers whos classes he stopped attending... :p |

twice as much as the average/median private sector worker, yes... the salary + benefit package is about double.
You her me, Nou? SALARY + BENEFITS, not just salary. |

So they get over 60k in benefits per year? Lets see that data.
I also had benefits, a 401k, full health + eye + dental. I do not think that amounted to 60k a year more. Explain these other magical benefits that teachers get. |
