SUNBURST (ORIGINAL MIX)
Sunburst, is a track that embodies a burst
from the sun. From the moment the first beat
is heard you can feel the energy. The rays
penetrating your soul. The bass, rattling
your insides. As you get a hold of yourself,
BAM! You get hit again with another blast of
the sunburst. This track comes to you from the
depts of outerspace directly to your speakers.

Kinda sounds like something I would play if my son refused to take his ritalin.

it reminds me of the theme from the haloween movies. I think the tracks ok but to me it sounds like the very old style of trance. back in 2000 or something.

Mixdown is pretty weak. I don't like the kick, it is very weak without any groove. The only bass to speak of is that off beat bass and I can't imagine that rattling my insides. There is very little variation and the chord progression is weak. You have one thing going on that you break in and out 3 times. Sound selection, synths, all pretty weak.

The mix, while sparse and a little flat, isn't over-compressed, you can hear everything and while flat, it still has a nice detail to it that isn't harsh. Musically, it's simplistic, but it shows technical progress. I don't know that it's reflective of what you're intent for it is, as read in the opening post, but if you keep developing the technique, you'll find it a little easier to express yourself.

The old-school comment is kind of dead on, but, that said, you're coming along with your skill-set.

Just take my advice with a grain of salt, it's mostly the style I don't like, but if you are working on improving that's always good.

when I was listening to all the tracks up, like the chorus, it sounded exactly how I wanted it. But then, when I broke it out into an actual song, it lost something. I tried to recapture it by making sure all the sounds were in their right frequencies and that there werent' any cancellations or harsh sounds. I went back to listen it to again w/ fresh ears just a few minutes ago. And that's exactly what I heard- harsh sounds. I also went back and listened to,

Awakening (Original Mix) by DJRYAN™

Huge difference. The sounds in "Awakening" are much more soothing, and more of what I'm after. But I must've missed something, because again, I loved how the "sunburst" sounded when all the tracks were going.

Anyways, the lesson learned here, no more "harsh" sounds. I can't take it. Another lesson, work on arrangment. I've noticed my tracks sticking to the same structure and that just aint going to cut it. I also need to make a concerted effort to be more original and less predictable. I know I've made the track but the variations were few and far between. That means that I also need to concentrate on chord progressions which has been an on going learning experience.

Thanks guys, and out of respect for you this'll be my last track on here for awhile. Its time to take a step back and be more "professional" w/ my tracks. I think that means taking more time, layering more, and implementing the aforementioned.

Thank you again for listening!

Yeah nice clear mix, just search for those better sounds and tweak em well.

Clear mix, but still the chord progression in this is pretty weak. There's no feeling. It sounds like you are using 2 of the exact same chords and just switching them.
