ever consider reading specs or actually go look at products before purchase? | The problem was, i had no time and not that much money to do all of this, we thought it was just the monitor failing on my HP mini 2133, i had windows vista on it and i had absolutely no problems with the resolution because even if it was 1024 x 600 it was not that big, i spent 14 days waiting for them to fix the god damn computer because apparently they had to wait on a new screen to install on the damn thing, fixing it would have been less expensive for me so i took that route regardless of the time spent, then they call me and tell me it was not the screen after all, but the motherboard, so i was ed, i got pissed off and bought a new one instead and made them transfer my data which was the most important thing to me... the rest is history. |

Windows 7 starter is pretty useless unless all you're going to be using the netbook for is going on the internet, storing some pictures, or creating Word documents. It's essentially stripped of some of the more robust features of Windows 7 so that it runs better on the lower processor speed and less RAM of most netbooks. So like someone said before, you probably would have been better off just buying a normal laptop. |

Because you are a producer and since you are on ubuntu my guess is that you cant stand windows. Next logical step is mac. Its basically the same as linux but supporting software and soundcard drivers. Just a guess. |
i use windows xp for producing and games. ubuntu for my laptop (i also have windows 7 on it, for gaming and producing on-the-go but im gonna remove it. it's ing 80 gb or whatever). i also have another laptop running backtrack4.
yes, I plan on familiarizing myself with more OSes, mostly linux distributions like Fedora and Debian, but also with some of the BSD's (OpenBSD especially). None of these come from Apple. |

The Mac OS is actually a Unix based OS, much like Linux (which is very similar to Unix), so saying that Mac is the complete opposite of Linux is like saying McDonalds is the complete opposite of Burger King. |

I don't know if he meant it in terms of Unix similarity. He may have been thinking of the software model (almost completely open with Ubuntu versus extremely proprietary with Apple). |
