for sure some guys are mixing the tracklists of different sets from oakenfold!!! around 15mins he's playing the actual underworld on sonne, mond, sterne - just got hold of the set!!!

Argh, no dude thats from his recent Party 931 one set from 08-11-2002. Whoevers giving you it labled as sonne is missleading you.

it's just labeled as oakenfold-11-08-2001, so i thought it would be this set... cannot image he did two sets on this day with about 99min. air and almost the same tracklist, but u're right, this one could be taped earlier and then aired on 11.08.02 ...
so u could give me a hint where to get his sms-set, cause i was there and wanna keep my memories on this evening!? *cannot get in irq, cause most ports are closed by our provider :(*

I finally got a hold of this set, but the one I have is about 119:56 min:sec long. The MP3 I have has U2 - Staring At The Sun at 56:06 instead of 32:50 as posted here. So that's about 23 additional minutes of the beginning of the set.
Man, how trashed was Oakie for this show?! He didn't even bother mixing some of the tracks (straight crossfades & backspins) and the 1st half of the set is really f'd up! At one point he just faded out to silence...
Here's a cue for the full version, can anyone help ID the tracks?

well, he was god mixing this night!!! not behind the tables, but behind the dj-booth... while spinning his tracks he often turned around and mixed some whiskey+cola himself!!! no lie - i was there... first couldn't believe what i saw - but later it was that funny!!! the first minutes broadcasted of this set were from the mainstage, but not from oaky... it was just 'background music' while they prepaired the stage for oaky and cleaning it from the underworld-performance... so u have the same set ;)
got it later that week too ;) |

After listening to the beginning minutes of the set some more, it occured to me that it might not be Oakey mixing...
Do you know what track he started with? According to the tracklist at the beginning of this post, it would be track number 10 in the mix I have. That's assuming that the "real" broadcast started with Oakey's first track.
Oh, and even though Oakey didn't play it, I'd love to know what track 06 is with the (japanese?) girl screaming and that funky beat behind her. |

Well, I ID'ed the track at 23:19 as Christophe D'Abuc v Da Prodigy - Climbatize, which is a remix of Prodigy - Climbatize off "Fat of the Land" album. Judging by the *much* smoother transitions from this song forward, I would say that this is Oakey's first track. ;)
So the tracklist should be:

well, I'm not sure if there exists a shorter version of this set, but who cares anyway - i cut it onto cd, so the first track for me is paris & sharp - aphrodite... nice 80min. cut for my car and sweet memories on this event ;)
besides: check your tracklist again! #3 is definitively 'paris & sharp - aphrodite (Tarantella Vs. Radanka Mix)' ;) - not sure bout #3 i would rather say its #4 in his set (along with the 'prodigy-into')...

still left out paris & sharp which he played definitively!!! and u're right about that lizard mix - its and unofficial and much more hammering version than the claxxix mix - same with the skip raider/ferry corsten bootleg... some oakie-only stuff till yet ;)
hopefully his u2-remix gets a full release soon... |
