Here it is. The movie all of us Canadians have been waiting for and must see. A week in which our civil rights and everything we stand for as a country and a people were completely robbed of us. A week in which we PAID for, to be treated in a manner that is....well watch and see. We must not allow these people to get away with this and need not forget what happened in a free country that week. |

Hey, Dumbass....
Next time there is a G20 Summit in Toronto, Lets NOT get alot of Security. Lets NOT block off the places they are staying with Fences. Lets ALLOW 10 000 People to roam our Streets are start tearing apart.
The City got Trashed on the Saturday, and everyone complained what are the Police doing?!?
Everyone interested went into the HEATED areas on Sunday, and got in the middle of things, and were detained. Perhaps they should know better than to NOT ENTER A ZONE deemed dangerous. Yet they ask "what were they doing"....
I hate all these ing Idiots, who think its OKAY for 10 000 People to gather and destroy our City. We don't need 1000's of police for that.
ing Idiots. |

No doubt there were some troublemakers. But the cops started more than they solved. No different from the entertainment district on a normal weekend as far as im concerned. There is a culture that has developed within the TPS in the last decade that is very provoking whereas in my experience in the past they always tried to be in the background and would try to deescalate when possible. NOT the case anymore at all. |

i dunno man. ive walked down richmond/adelaide quite a few times on a friday and all i notice are cops just standing around keeping an eye on the drunken punks that think they are thugs and giving attitude and causing problems to other pedestrians, therefore, provoking an altercation.
imo, there would not be such a strong police presence in the entertainment district if the kids didnt act this way towards others and looking for trouble. back in the day, we minded our own business but, apparently, that no longer exists. |

| Okay let's set things straight before the argument gets out of hand: the TPS that you see on a Friday on John/Richmond has nothing to do with the TPS that you saw during the G20 summit. On regular days they just do their jobs, but the summit was a completely different project... there was clearly some shady going on. |

I worked in the entertainment district for 4 years. I got stopped, harassed by and attempted to be intimidated by the police many times and all i was doing was walking soberly to my car from work.
I have also seen people get pepper sprayed, tasered and kicked just for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Ill never forget the guy who got beaten and kicked just for taking a picture while being drunk. The TPS are my heroes ill tell ya...
PS i always refused to give ID or search as i do not want to be "known to police" for walking down the street to my car. "Known to police" means they keep an arbitrary record on you even if you have never done anything wrong just because perhaps you are in a certain neighbourhood or bar that the cops dont like. |
