trouble hearing vocals...

hey, might be kinda random, but i've noticed something about me that is odd. when i listen to music, i don't hear vocals (unless it is blatantly obvious, like rnb, slow songs u sing to) but like in trance, alternative rock, punk, hiphop, i like songs for their melodies, beats, groove...never the lyrics. i have trouble hearing or remembering the lyrics to songs for some odd reason unless i put my mind to it and concentrate on hearing them. i've noticed this especially in trance; wut attracts me to the song is most definitely the melodies, it is never the vocals. i've ignored plenty of good vocal trance songs u TAs seem to love, just cuz i dun particularly find the melodies any good. vice versa, i'd pick up a totally meaningless vocal trance song if i loved the melodies in it. is anyone else out there that is like this? not just in reference to trance, but to music in general...
(i'm thinking i may be like this cuz of me being trained as a classical musician, in violin/viola/piano...maybe?):confused: |

doesnt happen to me
but the angelic voices used in trance sometimes just cant be understood, thats why there are no complete lyrics to some trancy song
also there is a brain disorder in which people cant understand something in particular.
there are some people that arent touched by music because their brains just dont get it, they can recognize a tune, but they will never like or dislike it.
I dont remember the name of the disorder thou
at least I dont have it, cause I would have never been able to listen to trance :D |
