The word "Massive" means commercial
Name me one event that is "massive" and not commercial
Exemple : Laurent Garnier + Jeff Mills + Richie Hawtin + Villalobos + Sasha
Is that commercial or not ? ...
Laurent plays dubstep because he enjoys it, but everyone plays dubstep now .. even tiesto
Is Laurent commercial because of that ?
What do you mean by commercial ?
The question doesn't make sense
Is Montreal ready for a massive event featuring talents that aren't showcased in the popular raves happening in Montreal right now .....
That sounds right to me
If you ask the question correctly ... people will focus more on the answer than asking other questions to clarify the original one IMO |

| the "commercial" tag has always been silly, because it implies that they want to make money which is normal...hence the term "commercially viable.". Piknic books "underground" (hate that word) acts yet are commercially viable so by definition alone they are commercial no matter who they book. |

Wow, you might get at least 800 people with a line-up like that! |
It was a fun day regardless. |

| The Piknic crew should throw a daytime party at Pier Jacques-Cartier during the summer, a noon-midnight type thing with the main stage and a smaller tent outside with locals. Now that'd be wicked. |

| It's all about hype and marketing IMO. If they can accomplish those two things well then yes, I think this thing could work. |

Montreal already has Bal en Blanc and Black and Blue. One of those events is still maintaining the numbers, albeit with commercial music, and the other one has been having lighter attendance.
To do another festival for the sake of doing another festival to have non commercial music really doesn't make sense. |
