Ford was no angel either. And i never defended his DUI. But at least Ford was honest about it.
Layton got caught with his pants down (literally) and hes still denying it. Sorry i dont buy it one bit! Hes not stupid. He knew where he was and what he was doing im sure. |

Tabloid style means you open it like a book instead of a broadsheet. Thats it. |
Love this format. The Star is a great newspaper but their dimensions drive me nuts! You need so much room to read it. It's also annoying how most of their big stories are always continued on another page :whip: |

Ontario Provincial Police say they have launched a criminal investigation into the leak of Toronto police notes of an incident involving NDP Leader Jack Layton.
Sun TV reported Friday that Layton was at a Toronto massage parlour during a police raid 15 years ago, but wasn't arrested or charged.
The network is attributing the information to notes taken by police officers at the time.
OPP Insp. Dave Ross says Toronto police asked the provincial force this morning to conduct a criminal breach of trust investigation.
He says it's hard to predict how long the investigation will take.
Layton, who was a Toronto council member at the time of the incident, dismissed the story as a smear campaign aimed at derailing his recent surge in public opinion polls.
The NDP's lawyer issued a statement Friday indicating that Layton was told by police he did nothing wrong and nothing further happened. |

You keep on reaching; the only person you're convicing is yourself.
Bye-bye CPC majority, hello Harper demise! |

We shall see. Perhaps if there is another minority harper will be out. But that doesnt mean the conservatives are.
I see Ignorantieff and doucheppe being shown the door for sure though. |

You're definitely right about Ignatieff leaving. I'm not so sure about Douceppe, as I think party brass are going to want to sift through the post election wreckage to find out why they collapsed so badly before deciding on their future direction.
Anything less than a majority and Harper will be gone too. How many elections will the Tories give this guy? This campaign should clearly demonstrate that he's just not electable in eastern Canada. The Tories needed seats in Toronto, and their own internal polling indicates that they've made no progress on that front. Any Liberal votes that are moving, are going NDP.
As for this latest Layton scandal, even most average people see this as nothing but a smear. There's also a few eyes looking Julian Fantino's way. Yes, the incident occurred before he was police chief in Toronto, but a politically sensitive incident such as this? He'd have knowledge. There's no way in hell that he leaked the notebooks, but he likely knew of their existance, and it wouldn't surprise me if he pointed somebody in that general direction.
Whichever party is responsible, it seems to be backfiring, as nobody is taking the incident seriously. |

Hmmm...spent his own money on a hand job, or wasted $1billion on a conference nobody wanted, that did nothing, what outrage would you get behind?
You know why nobody cares about this? Because a lot of people could put themselves in his shoes. Actual scandal is when, the general public would not condone a certain type of activity. How many guys go to the strip club, and pay for a bit of special attention? |

I wouldn't be surprised if Layton leaked this himself. Its taken the focus away from his platform....which is on shaky legs to begin with. |

Who else can step up to have confidence in both centre right Cons and more Reform right part of the Cons? Harper was some sort of compromise for both sides.
Only guy that seems to have come out with any credibility out of Harper years is Peter Mackay, and I think he'd be a decent PM, but he's got this wimpish feel to him. (plus i don't think people forgot the Stronach affair lol) |
