That's the trouble with upgrading your headphones - I can never go back to inferior sound quality. I've reached the ceiling where anything better than what I have will be too expensive and delicate to take out of the house when the weather is ty or I'm running or whatever, but I know I can't have great headphones indoors and then go back down in quality with a cheaper pair for the outdoors. |

Yeah, the 700s are way too bulky to wear while outside. I typically only use them at home or on planes. I just have regular iPod earbuds that I use when running and sometimes at work, and it's just terrible, especially if I'm listening to any kind of EDM. Do you happen to know if there are any earbuds that exist that can produce the sound quality that you can get with over the ear headphones? |

I have a pair of Sennheiser CX300IIs, and they offer similar quality to a mid-table pair of over-ear 'phones, although sadly without the same bass response.
Funny that I never considered before now that my listening gear might have affected my music tastes so much. |

Nooo that's not physically possible. How on earth should these small ass earbuds have the same amount as bass for example as some huge ass over the head phones? You need capacity, especially for bass.
However, there are a LOT of really expensive (100-300) in ear buds. They probably have decent quality but theyll never be as good as over ear headphones and I think it's extremly stupid paying like 150 bucks for in ear buds (and Ive paid about 250 euros for my Sennheiser HD 650 headphones) because they break incredibly easy especially with daily use. |

Go ahead and wear your bulky phones outside. Be a proud audiophile dork!
That's what I would do, anyway, if I had a portable music player. :) |

Maybe if you had better headphones you'd like Sander van Doorn? :D :haha: |

Yeah once you've heard some really bassy music like dubtech on quality headphones you can never go back to inferior quality :p |

a) you look like a HUUUGE douche b) they will break pretty fast with frequent outdoor use c) because of the nature of being outside (envirement noises, you only have a portable player as in input which sounds terrible compared to a good player/soundcard) you don't get really good quality anyways. |

I do sometimes if I'm just walking my dog or something, but it just doesn't work for running. The other thing that's annoying is that the cord on my 700s is about 3 feet long, so if I don't bunch it up in my pocket or something it hangs down almost to my knees. |

Your 700s didn't suffer from that legendary earcup fault. Lucky bastard.:whip: Funny that this turned into a headphone thread. |

D) They aren't easily carried when you aren't using them, making them easily lost or damaged. |
