So let's say I have a network like this:

What's the best way to allow company three's computers (Computers 1,2,3, and 4) to access the file server, but block it from all of company one and two's computers, if you are constrained by the need for a shared internet connection? |

Don't you set up access directory rights?
Active Directory Directory Service, some about domains.
if I can remember it's been two years since I did my networking course. |

The XP computers will need a patch installed on them to even see a Win7 computer, let alone that computer being a file server of some sort.
^worst post ever, sorry. |
