| I think it's pretty good. I think it would sound better if the instruments had more reverb added to it, because the vocals in this song are very echoey. Also the vocals get drowned out by the instruments in some parts of the song. So either turn down the instruments and/or turn the vocals up. By the way, what software did you use to create this mix? |

First, you gotta get some proper drum samples. The factory drums in FL aren't really useful, man. The FL synths you are using right now are good to practice with and to get familiarized with synthesizers, but tend to result in cheesy sounds and they are also not very useful in my opinion.
The reverb on this vocal drowns it out quite a bit. When you are programming reverb, it is often very helpful to determine which frequency ranges your reverb will be producing an effect for. I think you should try taking out a lot of the low end on the reverb, it's also a very muddy sounding reverb with a small room size, sounds very drowned out like I mentioned.
It seems that you have dropped a lot of MIDI tracks from the track you are "remixing" into the track and just put a 3OSCX on it to play the notes, without your own touch layed upon it. I'm glad you have started learning production man, and it doesn't sound completely horrible. It just seems like you are using FL and you are starting out producing. None of the sounds are overly dominating of the other sound, but as far as the mixdown goes, the vox is definetely not going to work.
Let's look at it this way. If you are using vocals in a track, usually, the vocal should be in the front and middle of the mix. Using such thick and spacey, muddy reverb creates distance, which is counter productive in your pursuit for a balanced and proper mixdown.

It's reverb on the vocals, and not an echo (delay), you wouldn't combat reverb with more reverb, to make it sound better. You may want to listen again, because the vocals are actually drowning out the other elements. He should take the reverb off the vocal completely, lower all of his other channels down completely, and gradually go through the mixdown. Also, if there is anything on your master channel, take it off. The reverb on all the other elements is also untamed. Don't just put reverb on there for it to be there. It's important to be using it pragmatically and not just for the sake of using it. |

| Good to see new blood learning the trade but you need to recognise the sounds you are using need a huge amount of tweaking. Don't be depressed by this - a good chef trains daily for years, and music is no different. |
