Sorry PT, but you're talking .
I've owned both those mixers over the years (also a current vestax owner as well) and the PCV is virtually identical to the PMC apart from the faders were upgraded on the PVC as well as a couple of minor cosmetics things.
Yes, Vestax stopped making their stuff in Japan but the advantage of the PCV having far more robust faders (that basically never die or leak), greatly outweighs the build quality issue on a mixer that only cost $300 retail when new. It's not like it was one of the install mixers from vestax.
Go with either the PMC or PCV, but I reckon you'd be better off with the PCV as you're going second hand, and chances are won't need to replace the faders. if it's been looked after (you will with the PMC unless they've been replaced recently). |
Fair enough, as I'm speaking from limited experience - mostly feedback from friends telling me of issues experienced with the later model PVCs. |

In fairness I can't comment on the build quality of very recent PCV's but AFAIK, none of the PCV range was ever made in Japan - production had already gone to china before they brought them out.
What problems did you hear of? |

I dont want to bad mouth the PCV because I had one for a number of years and it served me very, very well (still have it as a back up) but Ive had to replace nearly all the faders on it. |

Hey, as long as SOMEONE is paying attention to you, right?
Seeing as you're such a sucky little fanboy, why don't you go cheer for some random corporate sports team instead of wasting your brilliant observations on this board?
Seriously, who ing "owns" someone on the internet? This is a term invented by flabby, pasty, zit-faced, basement-dwelling nerds stuck in perpetual adolescence, who wouldn't know a fistfight from a fudgesicle, in order to make them feel like something more than the $140 gaming mouse-buying paramecium they actually are. |
