| I could never see the point of spending that much on a computer/laptop. Better to buy mid level computer and replace it when its eclipsed by new technology rather than blowing your load all at once. If your not gaming a high end graphics card will just eat up your battery. |

Also, for the Mac, which Core i7 is it? They're not all quad-core. |
OP said 2.7ghz dual-core so im guessing arrendale?
edit: it's also integrated intel hd graphics, so my bet is arrandale. |

Oh I didn't see that.
Well I'd say go with the PC, just make sure to keep it clean. |

| Hard to compare PC and Mac cause they are so different. But in terms of PC I prefer Acer to HP. |

Yea I agree. No matter how much you spend on a laptop you can almost set your clock to it breaking in 3-4 years. I prefer to buy cheap ass computers and replace them every 2-3 years. |

| Thanks for all the input, I went with an upgraded hp. I got an amd phenomenon 2 970 processor (quad core) in some gaming laptop. I went to the Mac store, and after being in the store for about an hour I realized I wasn't trendy enough. Plus, I want to be able to have extra batteries. |

pack 3 or 4, they should last you about the same time you'll get on a single battery in Mac. :tongue3 |

hey folks, about how long to laptop batteries last? The generic answer, I know is "it depends"; but is there an average? and also, if your battery is dying, and you want to replace it, what is the best option? getting the exact same battery? or can you interchange with a different brand/size? I only ask cause I have a dell Inspiron for 18 months and it's about dead on the battery life.
I'm using firefox and win7:o |
