DESCRIPTION
It’s now hard to imagine a summer that won’t be sound tracked by Hot Natured’s sleazy Intergalactic funk and distinct bassline brilliance so it’s lucky the boys are back with ‘Forward Motion’ – their first release for own imprint Hot Creations and dancefloor gold in the purest sense. Disco delinquent Ali Love provides lead vocals.
A-side ‘Forward Motion’ is an irresistible creation of moody basslines, eerie electric wizardry and Ali Love’s seductive echoing vocal, which marks a step towards full-blown collaboration song writing where pure melody and trademark slick production collide. Rave keys pierce the signature deep bounce along with soaring synths and lust-filled lyrics that make for an Infectious blend of romance and debauchery. ‘Forward Motion’ is the party bomb just waiting to explode.
‘B4 The Bentley’ is vintage Hot Natured plain and simple. The oscillating synth line will have you hooked and spaced out soulful keys and bumping bassline will have you daydreaming about palm tree lined streets rolling by in your Cadillac. Reminiscent of a ghetto block party, final freaky instalment ‘Ice Cream Party’ features Birmingham’s Below Crew sampled at an after party in a an Ice Cream Van. It all gets a little bit wonky with it’s swinging siren paired with an old school block-party vibe. Sexy bodies will be working it indeed, all summer long.
Jamie Jones and Lee Foss aka Hot Natured started the Hot Creations label only last year and already it has become a towering inferno of future-facing, funk infused house music, both inimitable and highly addictive. Previous releases have introduced an array of talented family and friends including Robert James, Burnski, LA’s De Signer and FB Julian but it’s with their hotly anticipated third EP that the pair marks the amalgamation of both projects. After two highly celebrated EPs on the LA based Culprit label ‘H.E.A.D.S’ and ‘Equilibrium’, Hot Natured now welcome the talented vocalist and musician Ali Love to the fore for future classic A-side ‘Forward Motion’. Known for his own brand of retro Italo-disco pop, Ali’s recent album ‘Love Harder’ was critically acclaimed for Ali’s catchy falsetto charm and his depiction of late night leanings. Lee Foss already gave his latest single ‘Moscow Girl’ the Hot Natured treatment and here, the union of forces reaches full effect. It was only a matter of time when the gatherings moved and graduated from rooftops and grottos into the more heavenly confines of stadiums and white sensations.
There is a message in this music and I knew it when I felt it. And really, there's only one way to hear that message. In a pew. And you can clearly fit more pews in a stadium or in a white sensation than you can on a rooftop. In LA. Under Clovis's watchful bugeyes.
